Re: CJ won't play tomorrow

Very smart move.

For people that want to watch, hopefully they will have a game on the NBA Dleague channel on Youtube!

Great news. Get a ton of game-situation shots up. Get the rhythm of the game down before returning to the team.

Sounds like they will.

Re: CJ won't play tomorrow

Awesome. Perfect. Have to get him some court time before sending into the pressure cooker.

TRAIL BLAZERS ASSIGN CJ McCOLLUM TO IDAHO STAMPEDE
Portland rookie slated to play Jan. 3 and 4

PORTLAND, Ore. (Jan. 1, 2014) – The Portland Trail Blazers assigned guard CJ McCollum to the Idaho Stampede, the TrailBlazers’ NBA Development League affiliate, it was announced today by General Manager Neil Olshey.

McCollum (6-3, 197, Lehigh University), the 10th overall pick by the Trail Blazers in the 2013 NBA Draft, has been sidelined since fracturing his left foot in training camp. He was recently cleared to return to practice.

He is expected to join the Stampede today and be available when the team hosts the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Friday, January 3 and Saturday, January 4 in Boise, Idaho.

Re: CJ won't play tomorrow

Now we wait for MM to come in here with the obligatory "send Meyers with him" post...

First LMA goes to Dallas and now this. Players seem desperate to get away from this team!

Give him a chance to get some game minutes and confidence. I have no problem with this.

This is a great thing. He needs to get back into game shape and isn't accustomed to how fast the NBA is. The D-League won't be as fast or as physical as the NBA but it will be faster/more physical then college was. Also we can bring him up and send him back down 5 times this year so this is a great way for him to get more playing time then he would get on the NBA floor.

Are you kidding me? bring him up and send him back 5 times? He's better then Moe Williams right now and will very soon be better then Mathews.

I love when things like this happen. You can get an accurate assessment of a posters basketball IQ from their response in an instant.

Great move = higher IQ

Bad move = no IQ or troll

Yeah, because we all know your opinion trumps all.

She is a FAR better poster and more basketball educated person than you. Her posts actually ADD to the forum where yours simply take away. I don't think many people in here would bat an eyelash if you were banned.

This isn't going to end well.

I'm so hurt. You have no clue how educated in basketball that I am. Your just throwing shit out there and guessing, when in reality you have no idea what you're talking about.

I simply said we can bring him up and send him back down 5 times so its really a non issue having him sent down unless of course you were expecting him to get a ton of playing time off the bat which is unrealistic.
He is a completely different player then Mathews and I'm not sure he will be better then Mathews in the next year or so, if ever.
He isn't better then Mo now but id agree I'd rather see CJ get minutes then Mo but that won't happen this year.
