Cj trade article.

Stupid idea.....at this point. He's the Robin to Lillard's Batman act. He's ranking with top guards. Nothing to dislike.

Wouldn't it be better to accept him and his limitations, and instead improve other positions of weakness (like SF and PF) and improve the team?
But yes, if Pelican's want CJ and will give us A Davis.....we'll accept. ; )

Is he playing worse with Dame back in the lineup though?

I really, really hate that guy. Luckily CJ is a broadcaster guy and knows how fucking stupid Canzano is.

This is not consistent with what you have been saying all along. "Trade CJ." ;)

I wouldn't say he is playing worse due to a poor shooting night but if you think he is playing worse then not by much. In that case earlier in the year Dame was playing worse (having more off-nights) and CJ was playing better. Then of course CJ went even a level up on that once Dame was hurt.

I don't see a problem with them coexisting on the offensive end. Now defensive end is definitely still a work in progress.

Not against trading CJ but I think teams would try to steal him. Can't see us getting someone better than he.

With his track record, Canzano should never be allowed to utter an opinion regarding basketball. I'm serious. I envy any of you who have not been subjected to him long enough to have witnessed his horrible basketball takes over the years. Maybe someone can help with some of the draft picks he's championed (Pooh Jeter in the lottery, etc). Dumbest sports writer ever. And that's not even accounting for his unrelentingly boorish and condescending attitude, and the fact he's hated all things Oregon sports related since his very first article (yes, I read his very first column). If only that prick would just go back to Fresno where he belongs.

Same thing in the playoffs last year, though. CJ erupted when Dame struggled. It's nice having two guys who can get hot at any time and carry the team, but they can't seem to do it simultaneously. The extreme overlap in their games means it's difficult for more than one to shine at a time. They both seem okay with that, fortunately.

You might only remember the times when one does well and one struggles but there are plenty of examples when they both have big games. Game 1; CJ 37 and Dame 21, Game 5; CJ 27 and Dame 35, Game 6; Dame 27 and CJ 20. Just in our first 6 games I found 3 where they both scored high.

There is probably an easier way to do this then me going through box scores one by one but I don't think you will have a hard time finding 10 of our 41 games were they both scored 20 or more (and I am probably low-balling that number). If you bump down to 18 or more each then I bet you can find 18 games or more.

Dame certainly struggled in percentages the first 15 games or so but I don't think that was on CJ at all.

It has just been my impression that CJ plays better with the ball in his hands. I didn't believe it initially, but I think he could play the point for a team that wants a scoring point guard.

Who cares what he has to say? He's going to be out of a job soon when the Oregonian goes out of business with how clickbaity and shit it is now.

I knew someone would bring that up, but I changed my stance about a week ago... something Canzano is too afraid to do.

Nothing wrong with saying it should be "explored" any good GM would be always looking at options. But the real question is trade him for who? Even if we end up paying him big bucks, he'll still have trade value as a scorer.
That's all Conzano is saying that it should be explored. I don't know why people get so upset at his articles.

Maybe because of the way he writes the article? It's not the SUBJECT of the article, it's the way he writes it.

Maybe you should read it someday.

I'll grant you game 5 and maybe game 6, but I think you'll find in most cases that one of the guys is scoring below his average.

Like I've been saying, CJ and Dame are essentially the same player.

I really like CJ but if we could include Canzano in the trade I would strongly consider it.
To make Team X bite... the trade would have to be @ least close to fair i.e. CJ, Clownzano, Dame, + involve GS to send Steph Curry to Team X & in return Team X would send us Luc longley then maybe Team X would accept:tongue2:

This.

Do you really think it hasn't occurred to Olshey to consider moving CJ for another player not quite so similar to Dame? Do you think that he hasn't placed and fielded calls from other GMs to consider this and other options? Canzano is so fricking annoying because he writes as though he's just had the most original and brilliant of thoughts and the Blazers are so stupid that they haven't immediately done it.

Remember when Canzano used to bitch about how unstable the Blazers' management was? Now that Olshey has restored order, Canzano has to find something new to bitch about. There are a couple of differences between Olshey and his quickly-departed predecessors:
1. He keeps pretty much out of the public eye during the season.
2. When he makes a move, it's usually a good one.

Canzano has to be Canzano, I suppose, but man is he annoying.

I posted the info below a year or two ago. Since nothing has changed, I will plagiarize myself.

Labeling the Clown’s job description as columnist or journalist is not a good fit. Plus, it insults every legitimate columnist and journalist

After comparing the Clowns behavior to every known psychological disorder, the best label appears to be troll. However, he has taken normal trolling far beyond the internet into radio and newspaper trolling. Plus since he is paid to troll, that makes him a Professional Troll. I did a search for images of trolls, and sure enough, up popped this image of the bald clown.

However, there is more to the Clown’s talents than just Professional Troll. He uses very elite and advanced baiting techniques. He can bait anyone into a senseless argument, on any subject, and take any side of the issue, and always declare himself right. The only requirement he uses is, any trolling topic he starts must increase his ratings, no matter whose lives he disrupts. The only defense against his elite baiting skills is to completely ignore him.

Clownznao’s correct job title should be: Professional Master-Baiter Troll.

So much this. There is no reasonable scenario that Olshey hasn't thought of before Canzano read the idea from some internet poster.

Realistically
*NSFW Lyrics*

There's not really anyone else in the league doing what CJ's doing right now to be honest. Steph is the closest but it's a bit different and CJ isn't on Stephs level in many aspects of the game.
