A number of articles say that he had been using the alias Jay Bishop to hide from Antifa. He may have gotten the last name from one of their leaders, another Bishop.

The caravan's big organizer Alex Kyzik lives in Idaho. The Oregonian says that hundreds of vehicles were in the caravan. The police claimed they couldn't track this major invasion of outside agitators because upon arriving on the outskirts, they almost immediately varied from their agreement with police to stay only on the freeways.

The downtown natives tweeted that when the rightists started fights at daytime demonstrations, the police claimed that everyone has a right to express his opinions. After police politely escorted out the rightists, at night only the liberal natives remained, and the police changed their tactics to intervene forcefully in groups standing around. The Twitter films changed from the rightists hitting them in the afternoon, to police doing the same in the dark.

It doesn't change my stances any, but give your respects to the person and to whom they were closest to. That is a human life.

Seriously, though, I simply claimed that Ted Wheeler was an abject failure as Mayor of Portland, OR. There's plenty against him, but isn't over 3 months of mayhem, violence, and now death enough substantiating evidence against this guy's total lack of leadership?

You trot out those high-falutin terms in attempts to make me look like a fool, and I don't like it. C'mon, man...let's play nice here.

I think here's the problem. You seem to say things, and then go with blanket statements as if the other person doesn't agree with you. like when (I think?) UCD was talking about something, never mentioned Wheeler or if he approved of him, and you go on about how he (UCD) approves of Wheeler.

its similar to how that clown has been saying Portland has been a mess "for years", yet I doubt he could even find Portland on a map.

I'm not saying Wheeler is great (I don't like how the city has been wimpy about the homeless situation and has allowed various protest groups free reign of a very very small portion of the city) , but just like when people say they don't like Kate Brown, they fail to come up with anything concrete as to why. So why do YOU think he's doing bad. NOT because your relatives told you, or you heard somewhere. Why do YOU think he's an "abject failure"?

When pressed, I stated that my own family in Portland had related to me what a mess it is out there, and what a mess he is as Portland Mayor. Wouldn't you agree he's brought much of this on himself?

If you come to Portland, or any city, armed and posting hatred for the opposing party on social media in hopes of intimidating it's citizens, you are clearly not peaceful.

He may have been a human. But his own hypocrisy got him killed. Don't come to town armed and looking for a fight and you won't get one.

The chief of police still answers to the commissioner, who is in fact the mayor (in Portland). I would agree that the police should not be led by an elected official, but an independent appointee--perhaps even one ratified by the city council (similar to how federal cabinet appointees need be confirmed by the Senate).
