Everybody knows the chief answers to the commissioner and I've known that the mayor has overseen that job since shortly after commissioner Ivancie oversaw the police decades ago. However, I see the commissioner's job and the chief's job as overlapping and that's what I was really talking about.
I think an elected chief of police would fulfill what you were getting at. Of course, that's in a ideal world.
Urban politics is not my bailiwick so I'm gonna let the professionals make the recommendations and let people like me choose from competing recommendations

The chief is more involved with managing police operations and officers.
The Police Commissioner deals with the political side as a commissioner.

Vice should be charged with aiding and abetting or harboring a fugitive if they didn’t tell law enforcement where this fucker is at.

If you’re knowingly interviewing a man on the run wanted for murder... and not telling law enforcement, you’re directly spitting in the face of the law AND the victims family.

AND he’s speaking to lawyers apparently, so... who? AND where is he getting this money to get this legal advise?

This is fishy and disgusting.

The video, if that's of the shooting, doesn't seem to show that there was any kind of justification for it. Kind of looks like he just went up to the guy and shot him.

Tho it also showed that those people who were driving the trucks through the crosswalk when it was flashing "walk" should be charged with something, since they obviously were going through red lights and tried to run over people.
 
Two people killed because of extreme ideological views.
Maybe Kate should declare games week and allow both groups to battle it out at delta park for a whole week without disruption. But once they check in there is no checking out!
