OT Classy way for Ichiro to retire.

I remember when I was real new in the business I worked for NHK, the Japanese broadcast company. I probably did about 30 of his home games in Seattle with him. Never forget that. Had a camera that only shot Ichiro and sent it back home. Great people to work with. Had the chance to meet him a few times and was a very cool generous guy. I didn't tell him that I hated baseball though. Congrats on an amazing career.

cool story. I bet he would have respected you're position on baseball.
I took my 3 sons to see him at his first game.

Legend.

Great sendoff in Tokyo.

The only time I ever saw him live he wasnt a mariner. Went on the day he was traded to the yankees (Who they were playing that day)... I'm about 100 feet from him in a yankees uniform... it was pretty surreal. He interacted with the fans a lot that day. Seems really classy.

I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I'm not a fan of ichiro. Huge Mariners fan, but not of him. Glad he's retired.

I actually enjoyed watching him, made the "game" at least a little bit exciting.

What do you guys think of that huge contract Trout got?
If they offer it I take it.
Can't believe they give THAT much money to somebody who won't even break a sweat.

The organization must feel there will be some pay back on their investment? He's hasn't won series as yet.

If you have no idea and you just heard the stat why do you think it’s bad for the league?
Because like our economy it kills the middle class. Baseball is so analytical that teams are paying stars, then filling rosters with minor leaguers to offset that money

I did not think he was going to take so many at bats. Glad they won the two games anyway but could have lost trying to give him a special sendoff.

You are "hyped" about baseball? Really? Are you not getting enough sleep?

Well, one of our young players (22y) went from almost never playing (and sucking on the rare at bats he got) to all of the sudden batting over .300 with 100 RBI and 30 Homers last season (keep in mind they play 20 less games than in the MLB, too), we have another shit ton of young players with ton of potential primed for a breakout year, to go along with the best shortstop and the best pitcher in the league, AND we just signed the last 2 years MVP.

So yes, I'm pretty fucking hyped

So your excited about a player who succeeds 3 times out of 10 attempts? .............I'm messing with you FAMS. I can't stand baseball, I can respect the history of it, but you just won't catch me watching it. It is BRUTAL to cover it, trust me.

To be fair, a good shooter in the NBA only makes around 50% of his shots on average.

;)
