Cold Big Macs, for this they win a championship? Trump owns a restaurant less than a mile away. He could have gotten food there.
He is beaming like a three year old announcing he successfully used the potty.
Clemons guys have my sympathy, but at least their game & overall experience here in California went great.
 
Those candle holders are the tackiest looking things in that picture, outside of the Trump himself.
 
Now that the visit is over, how do the Clemson players and staff feel about their experience?

PS, I don't give a shit about other people's fantasies if the players enjoyed the food and visit, because, they were not there.
 
The only thing about it that bugs me is the fact that the food sat out. Imagine how long that shit was on that table before the players came thru.

Clemson star quarterback Trevor Lawrence was lovin’ President Trump’s fast food spread — and wants to go back for seconds.

“It was awesome,” Lawrence told TMZ after chowing down at the White House. “We had McDonald’s and everything. It was good!”

The player and his team feasted on 1,000 burgers from McDonald’s, Wendy’s and Burger King with Trump Monday night to celebrate winning the NCAA Football National Championship.

Lawrence was outside the White House, taking photos with fans after the meal, when someone asked him how many times he plans to go back.

“Hopefully, a few more!” he said.

The greasy grub — which was served on silver platters — was paid for by the junk food-gobbling commander-in-chief himself due to the partial government shutdown, Trump said. White House kitchen staff were furloughed and not working.

Trump told the team he opted to foot the bill for the meal because he had a hunch they were into burgers.

“I had a choice,” he told the players. “Do we have no food for you? Or do we give you some quick little salads that the first lady will make along with the second lady. They’ll make some salads. And I said you guys aren’t into salads.”

What do you feed a pack of victorious Tigers? If you're President Trump and the Tigers in question are the college football playoff champion Clemson Tigers, the answer is obvious.

"We ordered American fast food, paid for by me. Lots of hamburgers, lots of pizza," Trump told reporters Monday evening after returning to the White House from New Orleans. "We have some very large people that like eating, so I think we're going to have a little fun."

Clemson, led by head coach Dabo Swinney, won their second national championship in three seasons on Jan. 7 by blowing out the top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide 44-16 in Santa Clara, Calif. With the win, Clemson completed the first 15-0 colege football season since the 1897 Penn Quakers.

The players were greeted by a White House smorgasbord unlike any other. Silver trays held stacks of wrapped burgers from Wendy's. Also on offer were boxed burgers from McDonald's, including Big Macs. White House cups bearing the presidential seal held French fries

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said much of the White House residence staff has been furloughed due to the ongoing partial government shutdown, ""so the president is personally paying for the event to be catered with some of everyone's favorite fast foods."

Pizzas, some topped with olives and tomatoes, also were on the menu. Silver bowls held the condiments, and stacks of white plates sat nearby. Several young men were spotted eating multiple burgers at the standup tables dotting the East Room.

The president is a noted fast food fan, particularly McDonald's and Wendy's.

“I’m a very clean person. I like cleanliness, and I think you’re better off going there than maybe someplace that you have no idea where the food’s coming from. It’s a certain standard,” he said in a 2016 interview.

“I think the food’s good,” he added.

The Clemson team's visit is its second since Trump took office. The Tigers last visited in June 2017 after their championship run the previous season.

Swinney has nominated this season's undefeated Tigers as the best college team ever. Trump called them a "great team, an unbelievable team."

Trump has routinely sparred with professional athletes during his two years in office. College football has managed to avoid such political controversies, with last year's champion Alabama also visiting the White House.

French fries are no good when they're cold. It don't do the burgers any good either. What did he have to drink, Kool-Aid?
Kids that age, especially athletes, especially football athletes, want steak and baked potato not a Big Mac. They'd probably love the french fries if they were fresh and hot.

Honestly, I kind of lean this direction. It's fucking funny, kind of clever, and not a bad idea for college kids, but I don't think Trump thought any of that while making the decision. After all, while addressing the pool, he called these "great American restaurants" and I honestly think he believes this. This is the food he loves most.
