CLIFF ALEXANDER: What's up with him?

Whether he has shown much or not I will say that this is one guy who I don't mind waiting on and giving lots of time to. He was rated as equal or better than Okafor as High School Senior.
I think we need to use the Meyers principle with Alexander and Vonleh. They should get as much time as Meyers has had to show what they can do. My guess is they'll both jump over that low bar.

I think we just need to see him get a significant stretch of games. He didn't even get that at Kansas. They gave us T-Rob. I'd be happy if he becomes that level of player. But with the team still in the playoff hunt; the chances are likely we won't see much.

This seems a little strange to me. It isn't like the guys Stotts is playing in his position are tearing the league up. Stotts in not going to loose playoff position.
If this coach is teaching anyone, I don't see it happening nor do I see anyone improving from anything. Hell, you could hire Sly to do this good.

Yep. Because Cliff is a 20 year old rookie that barely played college ball and isnt ready.. its all on Stotts... yep....

*smacks forehead....*

Um, Ive seen improvement in Crabbe, Vonleh... Even Aminu (more recently)

When you have so many new players, do you really expect ALL of them to take leaps and strides in improvement?

Stotts is fine... and doing what he needs to do to figure out his players.... and compared to preseason predictions.... he has been mostly successful.

You sound like a homer.

How about maybe he just sucks and this question can be asked for all the last player on the depth chart of an nba roster lol

ooookay... you want to clarify and dissect then?

FYI, I wear my homerism on the cuff of my sleeve and ive never tried to hide it. With that said, Im trying to be as impartial as possible. If you havent seen any improvement in Crabbe, Vonleh and even Aminu(as of late) from last year and the beginning of the season until now... well then I think its time for you to visit the optician. ;)

Yep, I really have noticed him. Doing real well, probably should be starting at SF. But it doesn't happen.

You havewnt seen some progress in Vonleh as of late? I think he had his best game of the season against Utah. Again, He is much like Cliffy. Very young with serious potential upside.

Vonlehs D now is much better than the first couple weeks in my opinion, but that could possible be because of the consistency pf minutes by being in the starting line up. He has taken a few more open distance shots than he used to ( always dribbled into traffic or just passed the ball) And when he doesnt put the ball on the floor and goes to the hoop he shows terrific footspeed and agility. Again, give him time to develop, but I am seeing the development. It just isnt happening fast enough for some of us obviously.

it perhaps answers the question but my "opinion" it that its not a good answer. Vonleh is getting regular minutes and frankly not doing much with them, he not horrible but he has a LONG way to go. I hope at some point this season Cliff gets a reasonable chance, if Vonleh was showing some real improvement I would not have brought this up, nor would I have if Meyers was playing better. I mean at some point you need to "earn" the minutes given - has Vonleh really done that enough not to give Cliff a chance? and we are now at the season's half way point
If Cliff and Vonleh have a ton of development, but Vonlehs speed is able to keep up with the NBa, then why would you put in Cliff instead of Vonleh?
They are both projects and at this moment its obvious Vonleh is outplaying Cliff in practice or Stotts would mix it up more.

Simple answer? At the moment, Vonleh is better than Cliff and Stotts is going to play his best players with the hottest hand. Cliffs hand obviously hasnt gotten hot yet.
I also believe Vonleh has a much better range and outside shot, so theres that too.

However, with the right development, I am hoping VOnleh turns into our Kersey and Cliff turns into our Buck Williams
