Cant count Lillard. That was PAs pick. Olshey said that himself
The draft pick came from Chad Buchannon moving Gerald Wallace but Olshy drafted Lillard...scouted him the entire winter before the draft...

Hit: Damian Lillard, No. 6 overall 2012 draft
About three weeks after taking the job, Olshey changed the course of the franchise by drafting the Weber State point guard. It was a position of need, and Lillard was widely acknowledged as the best point guard, but many wondered if his game would translate to the big stage.

Hindsight: Good pick. Lillard was an unanimous pick for Rookie of the Year and has become one of the cornerstones of the franchise. Players he could have picked instead of Lillard: Harrison Barnes, Terrence Ross, Andre Drummond, Austin Rivers.

I know he was in charge. It just wasn't his pick. It had been decided on before he got here.

So if the Lillard pick was already decided, what about the Leonard pick? Seems hard to believe one would be set in stone, but not the other.

Nope. Olshey said he asked Lillard who he would choose, and Lillard said John Holmes. Buchanan and the previous staff identified Lillard early, and PA was on board with that pick.

What a load of shit. And you talk about me having an agenda? Lillard hadn't even worked out or interviewed with the Blazers before Olshey was hired, and it was actually Olshey who told Allen Lillard was the guy.

Or go with your conspiracy theory instead.

It's not a theory, it's literally what Olshey has stated himself
I disagree with this....Olshey traveled in a blizzard to scout Lillard....Olshey if anything knows the draft ..I heard Olshey talk about targeting Lillard and it had nothing to do with Buchanon except that he got the pick ...Olshey used it and Olshey runs everything by Paul Allen....more than likely they both wanted him...Olshey drafted him. Even if you don't like Olshey....when he gets something this right he's due some credit

Olshey is fine. I just dont think he deserves credit forvthe pick. Buchanon and PA were all over him before Olshey got here.

Show me then.
It's not junior high. It's been said many times. Before the fucking lockdown at one center court it was told to me personally by former employees. We differ. You havevthe bigger penis. Youre the prettiest girl at the dance.

Oh ok someone told you. Just like someone told you the Blazers would be active at the deadline. So definitely factual. Got it.

I don't doubt that Buchanon probably identified Dame as a potential pick. But Neil was hired around June 4th and Lillard worked out for the Blazers on June 15th and the draft was on June 28th. My guess is Neil knew about Dame too, as every GM did, and wanted him as well. I just have a hard time believing that it was set in stone by June 4th before Dame even worked out for the team. That is kind of early for a final decision to be made. But I guess it is possible that PA and Neil agreed to let the current scout team make the final decision since Neil was late to the party. (But then why not the 11th pick too?) Still you would think he would say something if he disagreed with the choice.

I'm not really sure I see the point in returning to Alexander.
Should Ed Davis return to his 15-16 form, he should be the first big off the bench for Portland next year..
Well Unless Portland is able to convince a David West type to sign for the vet minimum to chase a ring.

Does that sound like Neil to you though? Let the scouting team (not even his btw) make the decision? Come on. It's also pretty crazy to think that he would delegate his first (and maybe most important) decision.

No it does not.

Wasn't that C.J.?

"Expect a few deals, and if not, to hear about deals that fell through."

Well, neither happened.

A deal with Denver for Ezeli's contract supposedly fell through.

That doesn't really confirm MMs "team is trying to make the playoffs" story though. Besides everyone knew the situation with Ezeli.

He got me. I'm just an old man wanting to be liked.

It's guys like you that keep anyone with minimal knowledge of the team, like myself, from posting rumors

Point flew over your head? I'm not really questioning whether you have sources or not, just that what you are told, isn't always factual.

And this Olshey/Lillard story that you were told or whatever, just doesn't check out. Sorry.

I am suprise someone hasn't latch into him as big man. He looks like he as approve alot down there and yes I would pick him over ML. He has great foot work down and can shoot out to 15 to 16 feet. Rebounds really well and looks like in better condition. Will maybe he land some where's next year.

At this point I would gladly swap out Leonard for Alexander. I would swap out davis too honestly. I think we have seen the best of Davis unfortunately.
I would never swap Davis for Alexander....especially now that we know he's been playing with a torn shoulder all season...after he's fixed I think he'll be a great backup again.
