NORTH PLAINS, Ore. -- Burglars broke into the home of former Portland Trail Blazer Cliff Robinson recently, ransacking the house and stealing everything from televisions to guitars, deputies said Tuesday.

The break-in on Jackson Quarry Road in North Plains occurred while Robinson was out of town. It's unclear when the theft happened, but Robinson said his real estate agent discovered the damage Monday.

Glad to see he wasn't home or hurt.

He played in the league for 18 seasons, at least he had some extra cash to throw away.

Never heard of North Plains!

North Plains is just past Beaverton and Hillsboro on highway 26 and is a pile of crap (sorry any of you North Plains residents, but it's true).

It is one of the last stops you can make on your way to the Oregon Coast, with decent gas prices and a few fast food joints though....

Remind me to never stop there.

Crazy... I have probably ran by house and didn't know it. =) North Plains isn't much... but some of the roads a bit outside the main part of the city are nice in a rural kind of way. Little east from there is Helvetia where the Roloff's from Little People Big World have their farm. Get our pumpkins from there.

Helvetia tavern makes a tastey burger!

I hate thieves. Just a couple of months ago caught one stealing out of my car.

You put them in the hospital?

I didn't stay around to find out. Chased em 2 blocks, and some stuff went down which I don't want to say a whole lot about due to the legality, but let's just say he was running for his life and not in good shape when I last saw him, running through a snow storm with no shirt on, and I got all my stuff he stole back. :tsktsk:

If you're right (and I'm sure you are), I wonder why Robinson chose to live there.

Because the land was almost nothing because he is saying it is a farm. ;) Just kidding... I don't know that at all... but I do have a brief recollection of an rumor or story that might have almost implied something of the sort about some Blazer.

That and its one of the few places around where you can actually get any sort of land at all. I'm no fan of North Plains (except for the awesome golf courses and xmas tree farms) and am born and raised west side guy (still live here) but I'd rather be dead then live on the east side of town. ;)
:shitstorm:

Well as a born and raised East sider, I am offended by that remark.

I know all the streets and neighborhoods look different on the eastside. That must be tough to deal with being a Westsider. There is nothing unique or interesting about YOUR side of town. I poop on the Westside!

I hate thieves. Just a couple of months ago caught one stealing out of my car.

One of my ex-girlfriends had her car stolen in Eugene a couple of years ago. It was some shitty 1991 Honda Civic or something. But, when they found the car, they not only busted them with the theft, but also for my girlfriend's weed that they found in the glove box. The thief didn't know, but how can he deny the possession charges given the circumstance. I thought it was pretty funny.

Yeah but they probably took the weed:(

I don't think Robinson chose North Plains for the urban area. He likely chose it because it's beautiful country out there. I'm from the south side of town, but every time I drive out to the coast, I always reflect on how nice it is in that area of the PDX metro area.

I grew up on Eastside... lived in Sellwood, Gresham, SE Portland... then I moved from the Eastside to the bestside... and I will never look back. Some areas on Eastside just scares me... 162nd burnside area has drug related shootings all the time... the whole area between there and gresham died... Joes Freddies etc... packed up and left because of high theft rate... near Foster the is a similar dead zone where everything just went to shit... any new development went out to far side of Gresham or out to Clackamas. Parkrose was a nice area and school district when I was a kid. Now I think I heard it was worst in state.

Westside seems to be much more high tech... (can't even find computer stores on east side)... has nicer restaurants etc... Yeah the roads did confuse me at first because they all don't go exactly N/S and E/W like on Eastside... but I figured it out. For someone in tech like me... Westside has a lot more job opportunities. I am very happy to call it home.
