Notice Clint Capela is on the trade block

No. There isn't really much point in going from Nurkic to Capela. Keep Nurk if we can't trade him for a year, unless we can get a young guy like Allen or Wiseman (for cheap).

I'd slightly lean to wanting Capela over Nurk and his deal will be an expiring next year so it would get us out of the final season of Nurk's deal. I'd make the swap, but I'm not giving up any picks or other assets to do it.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind shaving a year off of Nurks contract for capela. But agree I wouldn't want to add any assets, which likely kills any deal.

If Hawks had still been in the tax maybe they would've done that deal as it does save a few million in salary this season and next. From what I can tell they currently have 5-10 million under the tax so that probably isn't a concern at all right now.

I think that franchise wants to see what Quin Snyder can do with a full season before they ship out any rotational players - unless its a talent upgrade or saves cash.

I'm gonna say Mavericks.
I think Cuban wants a playoff team, and Luka & Kyrie can't do a damn thing on defense.

But for what? Don't really think the Hawks are interested in adding Hardaway.

He would be helpful. However, he's not worth much to us as his presence wouldn't dramatically turn this team into a contender.

I think Capela, who was tied for 4th in rebounding last year, is an upgrade and I would not mind him being part of the 3-team trade for Dame. (for Herro) He is not one of my first few choices in that scenario, but we do need someone like him.

Sure we can get rid of Nurk if we got him, but it would be nice to have two centers (+ Badji) when one gets hurt. I understand that 29 is too old for some of you, but we can worry about getting his replacement later.

But he’d be an extra target for Scoot to pass to. Also, whether or not we are contender, the culture must change defensively. We can’t continue to be bottom 5 in D and Capela is a rim protector.

At what price? That's my concern.

You mean who would we give up for him? Miami filler. Herro would be my guess. Atlanta is a tough one to gauge though. Not sure what they think they need.

He might help Scoot's pick and roll development. He's a top 5 pick n roll finisher in the league, and that skill will pay dividends for us in the long run. Jerami definitely isn't doing that.

Please no. That backed patch of hair drives me crazy.

His enigmatic multi-colored hair patch seems to have stemmed from a dubious attempt to attain increased virility performed by a modern-day charlatan akin to the infamous John Brinkley. Brinkley was a quack in the early 20th century who claimed to offer increased virility through the transplant of goat testicles into humans. Capela, no doubt lured by the prospect of improved performance on the basketball court, fell prey to this eccentric scientist's experimental procedure.

However, instead of experiencing an athletic renaissance, Capela was left with an unintentional side effect: a vibrant patch of hair that acts as a quirky mood ring, changing color with his emotions. It appears that the scientist's promises of virility were as dubious as Brinkley's goat-testicle transplants. If we manage to get Capela, let us not forget the cautionary tale of John Brinkley. In the end, Capela's accidental hair-patch serves as a whimsical reminder that in the pursuit of extraordinary abilities, one might just end up with a peculiar and colorful outcome.

had to look up what Dallas has, I think I got it....
ATL gets that Holmes guy nobody wants, JaVale McGee, and a future pick. That makes the Hawks much worse. Trae Young won't be able to absorb being on a horrible team, and will ask to be traded. People who work for the Hawks will tweet smartass comments, and light the firestorm of perched Trae Young haters. Then Atlanta will complain about opponents not offering a spectacular trade package for the All-Star PG who they just pushed out the door.

Clint is a downgrade on the offense side of things but a pretty big upgrade on the defensive side of things but not sure the Hawks would want Nurk in return and that is about only thing we could offer unless Hawks brought in on the Dame deal in some way.

He could be a fine addition, but not particularly compelling.
