life changes...Sunday I was admitted to the hospital emergency room...being released today after many tests...apparently I just dodge a bullet...my respiratory system was failing due to my heart only working at 25 percent....flooded my lungs with blood....I'm now disabled probably for life...have to live a completely different lifestyle and take very expensive meds for a month...come back and get my heart shocked back into a restart...

Omg brother I'm so glad to be reading this post. I say that to say I'm glad your still with us to write it.

Taiko: An Epic Novel of War and Glory in Feudal Japan is pretty good if you don't mind Japanese historical stuff.

thank you bro....I've been through the mill the last week....starting to breath a bit better but my life will forever be changed....for now I can't drive, fly, eat salt, drink much water, sugar, bread, and I have to wear this defibrillator vest every hour of the day...for a month....then they jumpstart my heart …..97 degrees and not allowed to drink water...whew...just small sips.

Cut to the chase.

Can you still play guitar?
hurts to hold the guitar for more than 5 minutes..hopefully that I can continue after the jumpstart....been playing the piano instead to while away the time.

Shit, that sucks. What are the lifestyle changes? Diet and excercise related or meds and Physical therapy?
you name it...I can't have it....doctor said everything I like is off limits...salt could kill me...no ice...no coffee...no bread....no sugar...on and on...sucks dude

I love that shit….read everything I could on Asian history...last read a two book series on the British Calvary and there trek from India to Afghanistan...can't remember the author...she was a British woman who grew up there

Well, when you can go fishing, let me know. I probably am somewhere on the river.
I'll cut you watch to what ever you say.
Unlike here my friend....when I go fishing, I am a man of few words.....my son and I fish for hours just listening to nature...I'd enjoy fishing with you Marz.

It's interesting when the light at the end of the tunnel blinks...what things become important
I guarantee you if I get a blink I'll just say "what the fuck was I thinking?"

Actually, I did have a brief blink 26 years ago when I almost drove around the train track barriers and stopped and 4 seconds later an Amtrak flew by doing 80.

Guess every day since has been a bonus.

Sorry to hear about this River. I don't venture to the dark side much anymore.

You and a few others on here are the reason an old man like me is still on an internet board.

Take care of yourself please.

I was thinking about folks without health insurance and it's shocking that my heart pills would cost 1200 dollars for 30 pills..a one month supply..no way someone without coverage could afford them....with my insurance copay I pay 25 bucks a month...something really wrong with that in my view. In my case no health insurance would be a death sentence. If you have insurance...get checked out while you have it....sooner the better

Tons of us have insurance and don't use it when we should.

Back to you feeling a bit better and getting a good night's sleep. I got this yesterday and was so happy I think the universe caught on.image000000_04.jpg

good looking shirt! I like it....I am a black t shirt guy...buy them in bulk mainly because they out last all other t shirts and also as a nod to Johnny Cash

a nod to Johnny Cash
When I joint the Navy, I was at Peir 91 in Seattle for a month or so, and Cash's I Walk the Line, was on top of the charts.
Went to a dance down town somewhere and when this song was played, the young lady I met, said, Johnny Cash was her favorite singer.
Oh, me too! I was flexible in those days.

Those were the days when music wasn't segregated by genre.....a good song was a good song...no FM radio...you'd hear the Beatles, Sinatra, Ray Price, Johnny Cash and Sam Cooke or Nat King Cole played back to back....I actually miss that. Now they've compartmentalized music into styles instead of substance...

I'm apparently an old soul.

Have Sam Cooke and Johnny Cash on my phone. Same with Public Enemy and System of a Down
