To say the least, this movie definitely lived up to the hype that it has created over the past few months. I went to see it tonight and I left completely satisfied. Once the movie starts rolling, it never lets up, not for a second. It's one of the most intense movies I've seen in a very long time as well. I definitely recommend this movie for anyone who enjoys a good thrill ride from start to finish. Also, it might freak those out who scare easily, so just thought I'd put that out there. But yes, do yourself a favor and see this movie, as it definitely lives up to the hype.

really? at the end people where booing lol. i wasn't a big fan of the plot , i felt the way they made the movie and the concept was kick ass though.

Yeah, my friend told me it wasn't really that good. And does the monster look anything like Godzilla?

I've heard mixed reviews about Cloverfield. I'll probably wait until it comes out on DVD...

I've heard it was terrible. A lot of people I know hated it, boo'd it, or just left.

I think I'll pass. I never bought into the hype, I thought it looked stupid from the first trailer I saw.

When I saw it, no one really was saying anything negative about it. Both me and my girlfriend loved it. I guess it's all about preference as it is, and I personally loved it and would still recommend it to most anyone.

Same here. I saw the trailer and thought it looked like a ridiculously stupid movie.

I was interested in trying to figure out what the movie was about, but once I saw it was just a godzilla movie...eh.

I thought I was going to throw up, the camera was killing me.

Other then that, I loved it. I thought is was action all the way through and I can't wait for the second one.

Theres going to be a second one?

I haven't seen the movie, but how can they make a second? Doesn't seem like the type of movie that would warrant a sequel.

Yea. At the end after the credits, there is a whisper. You play it backwards, and it says "it's still alive"

...how did you play it backwards, pray-tell?

yea I heard it...

This morning I saw this movie, and I thought it was exciting and unique, I didn't see anything wrong with it and would see the sequel.

I'm wondering the same thing.

my cuz told me it was ok but Id figure Id still go see it. the monster looks very well done, IMO. Ive seen the pic of it on the comp. and it seems much different then what I expected

Oh yes I forgot to mention that the special effects are very well done, nothing looked fake to me at all. I didn't expect much from this movie (trailers seemed a little silly), but the military effects and such were quite cool.

***SPOILER (Sort of)***

I like it that we don't get to know where the monster came from exactly, or it's background. It adds to the mystery and I think if something like that went down in real life, it would be unrealistic to expect a detailed biography of the thing in a few hours.

I've heard the film's camera work is an eyesore and the ending leaves you unsatisfied. However, I'd like to see it myself as I don't usually trust film critics these days. Took my interest a few weeks ago, so I may shell out the cash to see this one.

They have videos playing it backwards on Youtube.

So I'm sampling "part 7" now...I have no idea how any one could sit through 2 hours of this stuff.

edit: just finished 7 and 8. I'm really glad I didn't see 1-6. I'll be spending my money on There Will Be Blood, thank you very much.

Damn they took it down! Just got to part 3, can you tell me what happen, and what the monster looked like?

I'll do my best since I didn't actually watch the movie.

Everyone dies. By the time the movie ends there's only three people: the camera-man, and then a couple. They run around the city to get to a helicopter station that's evactuating people out of NYC. As they fly away they see the monster get blasted. They start to celebrate before the monster does something (not really dead I guess), and the hellicopter crashes. The three people live. As they get out of the wreck the monster finds them, and chews up the camera-man before leaving; two to go. The couple hide out underneath some bridge, but because they're so close to the monster they get caught in a massive bombing run aimed at the monster. As the bridge is crashing down around them you can hear them say "I love you" before the bombing and wreckage finishes them off. Hooray!</span>

SPOILER:

http://blog.motorphilia.com/?p=9

Go there if you wanna see the monster. Actual movie footage.</div>

Just to be accurate, a lot of pics of the monster in that link look lower quality and are from a video game or something.

The first couple of pics look flat out inaccurate, the special effects were much better then that.

I still think it was a nice movie. I think GM Jigga wouldn't understand the suspense/emotion of the movie if he began watching it towards the end.
