Re: C'mon San Diego
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Not to jump off-topic, but most people who hate Brady, hate him because of the Super Bowls he won were being won by a field goal in all 3 (the Eagles won technically was won by a field goal if you think about it..it was 21-14, and Vinatieri hit a field goal to push the Patty's up 24-14. The Eagles cut it to a 24-21 game when Freddy Mitchell caught that touchdown pass. That really iced the cake for New England. That's the chip on Brady's shoulder that is held by most people.) They don't look at the numbers he put up in the regular season, the playoffs, and in the Super Bowls to the way he got them there (except in XXXVI..he only passed for 107 yards, and still got the MVP in the victory over my Rams. Vinatieri should have gotten the MVP, IMO. Regardless of whether he was a kicker or not, he delivered a deadly boot to the ball on that 48 yarder.) I'm not a Brady fan, but the guy wearing the number twelve Patriots jersey is one hell of a player, and that shouldn't be taken from him, but I think the idea of why most people dislike him so much is for the sole fact of their excuses that Vinatieri won the Super Bowls. He did, but the fact remains that Brady made those quirky passes that helped them to the top in two of those Super Bowls, and on that final drive of the one I dreaded. Hands down, Brady is one hell of a player.</div>I took this reponse from the Why people hate Tim Duncan thread? I orginally posted a little something on how Brady is somewhat comparable to Tim Duncan. I'm creating a new topic because I didn't want to post a huge spam response in a thread and because I wanted to get some sh*t off my chest about Brady and the PATHETIC display the city of San Diego has been displaying. You totally hit it on the head in last part of your argument. What pisses me off are the people that say he's pompus and cocky....that's just simply isn't true. The last press conference he was in he talked about how the 3 super bowls he won were in the past and how he had respect for the San Diego Chargers and called them the top dogs in the league. Brady isn't cocky, he respects his opponents. People say Brady is overrated and Vinatieri is the one who won those superbowls, those people are ignorant. They forget he did a fantastic job controlling the offensive drives, especially in the first super bowl he won at the end of that game. They also forget how he makes stars out of nobodies. Resche Caldwell, is the Pats #1 reciever this year. Our recieving core is horendus, but we've made it work because Brady is a brilliant quarterback. We also have a brilliant head coach, which definately plays a part, but considering we've lost Deon Branch, David Patton, David Givens, Christian Fauria, key players on our super bowl teams the past few years, and we've replaced them with guys like Caldwell, Javar Gafney, Chad Jackson (rookie), and our passing game is still great. He is so aware of his surrondings and what the type of defense is being thrown at him, it's incredible. That is why Brady is a great quarterback, the people who just watch the super bowls and say that Brady is overrated just pisses the hell out of me.Also by the way, the people of San Diego are complete idiots. They were taking live feeds of WEEI's morning show Dennis and Callahan (boston sports talk) and playing them live over their radio station and were making fun of us. First of all, WEEI has done nothing but totally respect the Chargers and all the talk about is how will they stop LT and their offense. 2nd of all, where the hell is this coming from? Is it jealousy because the pats have 3 super bowls in the past 5 years? The Chargers, aside from LT being outstanding and having a 14-2 record, have no business talking sh*t about other teams. Considering how they haven't done a damn thing since 1994 when they went to a super bowl, which they lost by the way. Nobody around here is saying the Patriots are going to walk all over the Chargers. A San Diego sports talk station, don't know the name of it, but it was discussed on EEI, had DAVID WELLS on their station talking sh*t about the Patriots. Are you f*cking kidding me San Diego? That guy is a complete morron. He rips on Bonds for using steroids and he's on a San Diego talk show jerking off to how Shawn Merriman is amazing. They were also talking about how Marty Schotenheimer is going to outcoach Bellicheck......I mean, this was comical. A guy who's 5-12 in his career coaching in the playoffs is going to outcoach a 3-time super bowl champion? Give them a little respect san diego, they've won 3 super bowls in the past 5 years and made it to the divisional playoff last year. And once again nobody in New England is talking about how the Pats will destroy San Diego, if anything at all we've given you respect.
