Ford was never implicated in any of Nixon's transgressions, and that was all political. Trump's stuff has been all business/personal, so it seems even less likely that he would have any connection.

Well, Ford was Nixon's 2nd VP. I am sure Agnew was very aware of watergate. He went down for his own dirt and was gone by the time shit hit the fan. Pence knows whats up. Though you may be right, he might not be "involved." He has probably been sitting quitely to the side waiting for Trumo to go down, so he can claim plaudible deniability and become president.

Rudy Giuliani contradicted Trump. Trump said, Cohen is lying and what he told congress was true. Guiliani says Cohen lied to congress.

lol. the bumbling lawyer and another case of the right hand having no clue what the left hand is doing.

Good point about Agnew. I concede.

As to Pence, the silent spectator tack is certainly the approach I'd take were I in his position. No downside there, really.

You guys know I don't venture in the political side of this place, but just curious why none of his fans on here who have supported him day after day no matter what he has said or done are not replying to this thread?

I've asked them in 4 or 5 threads since he became their president, does he speak for them. Is his message, THEIR message? What will it take to stop supporting him? Maybe this is it.

If Rudy is contradicting Trump, it's probably because he wants to have a career after the circus is out of town.

Being Trumps running mate was a win/win for Pence. Either way he got to be VP and if Trump goes down he becomes president...the only way Pence gets to the oval office. I just hope if that does happen Pence doesn't use his religion to run the country.

Well, obviously the snarky response would be that they have jobs, but this is 2018 and people have phones.

But those who have supported him are from 1950, so...they have jobs?

I can almost predict within 99.9% accuracy that no matter what, Maris and marzy will go down with the trumptanic and live the rest of their lives in denial.

Honestly, I don't think they actually support him (well, the sane conservative/Republicans). The nutbar MAGA people are delusional and mentally off their rockers. But the non MAGA sheep are likely to stay in his camp, but only because they know it gets under the "other sides" skin.

There are a few posters here who you know that describes to a T.

I'm surprised they haven't.

Remember when trump met with Putin with nobody else and no one recording (except Putin, I’m sure). I’m sure nothing suspicious was happening......

The Kremlin confirms Cohen sent emails to set up meetings regarding Russia Trump Tower

You know, if Trump had any brains, he'd resign while in Argentina (I think thats where he is going today) and Pence would be made President.

And then have Pence just pardon him, and put an end to our "long national nightmare".

And yes i know he would never do this because as a non president he would totally be boned.

Ex-Trump Official Anton: Mueller Hasn't Indicted Anyone for Collusion After 18 Months
Asks how long probe will continue.

Former Trump administration official Michael Anton said Thursday that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has yet to indict anyone on charges related to collusion with Russia during the 2016 campaign.

The former National Security Council spokesman said Michael Cohen's new guilty plea is another example of Mueller pursuing a "process" crime rather than pursuing collusion-related offenses, which was the original goal of the investigation.

Cohen, President Donald Trump's former lawyer, made a second plea agreement with federal prosecutors in New York, reportedly admitting to lying to Congress in 2017 about a Trump real estate deal in Russia.

The appearance by Cohen in a downtown Manhattan courthouse was unexpected and is the first charge against Cohen related to the Mueller probe.

McCarthy: Mueller Probe Started With 'Worthy' Purpose, But Turned Into 'Clown Show'

Cohen previously pleaded guilty in New York to violating federal campaign finance laws by arranging hush-money payments to women in 2016 “at the direction” of then-candidate Trump.

Anton asked on "America's Newsroom" how long Mueller is going to investigate if he cannot charge anyone after 18 months on a charge related to Trump-Russia collusion.

"I personally haven't seen any evidence on that original charge. How long is this gonna take?" he asked.

Anton said it's well known that Russia made "ham-fisted" efforts to interfere in the election, but the "serious question" of collusion by the Trump campaign has yet to be addressed by Mueller.

He said Mueller's team of 30 or so prosecutors, working with a "huge" budget for 18 months, should be able to offer the public some evidence of collusion by now.

Anton said Mueller appears to be operating with an "unlimited mandate" and no timetable, while widening the scope of the probe.

"The special counsel can bring extraordinary pressure on people who maybe start out as witnesses and then become suspects or targets," he explained.

It just happened. Give them time.

Its coming Maris

Faux News again, lol.

Maybe this will help:

The ongoing Special Counsel investigation is a United States law enforcement and counterintelligence investigation of the Russian government's efforts to interfere, with primary focus on the 2016 presidential election. This investigation includes any possible links or coordination between Donald Trump's presidential campaign and the Russian government, "and any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation." In addition, the scope of the investigation reportedly includes potential obstruction of justice by Trump and others

So Trump publicly complains about how long the special council is taking with the investigation while purposely dragging his feet on answering Mueller's questions. Pulls shady shit, coordinating a lie filled story with Manafort. Thinking that they've completely fooled Mueller. Trump finally turns in his answers and POW! Shit starts cracking!

The fun of this day just wont stop!

Jim Jordan just withdrew his bid to become ranking GOP member of the House Judiciary Committee. He would have been Trump’s chief defender in initial impeachment proceedings. In other words, Jordan took one look at events of this morning and concluded Trump won’t survive this.

Trump can't backtrack or correct himself now. Its all on paper. Its written. Its considered under oath. He is fucked

Trump can't backtrack or correct hi.self now. Its all on paper. Its written. Its considered under oath. He is fucked

It's funny, all he would have had to say is, "I've never run for public office before, I was so focused on exposing corruption in all of politics I didn't see the bad actors and deep state infiltrating my campaign. I'm as much of a victim in all of this as the American public is."

Instead he doubled down on the lies.

Who does Trump hire? The BEST, that's who.

BREAKING: Republican lobbyist just told me White House staffers are “in shock,” saying they weren’t aware Mueller or the FBI could indict witnesses who lied to Congress. A lot of them also never believed Trump had Russian business ties, until Michael Cohen’s plea deal today.

Next step in the trump playbook will to be to deny that he wrote the answers and that his lawyers did it without his knowledge. Doesn't matter that he's on tape saying he wrote them, lol
