3-0 since re-inserting TRob... Still a coincidence?
Definitely not last night; that block was MASSIVE!

DINGDINGDINGDINGDING!We are blessed with both. No need to decide now. Continue to develop them both and play them off of each other. There is no telling what the future holds.
Yep.3-0 since re-inserting TRob... Still a coincidence?
Yep.
Yep.
Nope.
Yes. In the games we lost during Meyers' tryout, Meyers/Trob were not the difference makers. That Trob may have contributed to one or more wins since then is not relevent to the previous losses referenced in the initial question, nor does it lead to a conclusion that Meyers would not have similarly contributed.3-0 since re-inserting TRob... They both have a long way to go, and I'm rooting for both of them.
You don't see how we can adequately develop two young bigs? I'm not following. Are our teacher-to-student ratios too low during practice? Are we over the "raw young player" luxury tax quota? Is this Thunderdome?

I like T-Rob. I think he's got great potential as a hustle player. I think he deserves more playing time than Meyers right now. But I don't see how any of that means that "one has to go".
Repped for multiple good points over multiple threads.
Leonard is young and unformed. So is Robinson. I'd actually like to see them play together, basically switching the high and low post positions on offense. As for defense, both need to study at the feet of Lopez. Robin has size, but he's not very athletic. Yet he always seems to be in the right place at the right time. Bottom line, he's a guy who has maximized his talent level. Robinson and Leonard have only begun to scratch theirs.
Best yet, it seems Leonard and Robinson both want to work on their games.
Yep.Nope.
Meyers can shoot, and is learning the Freeland "verticality" defensive style. If Robinson could learn to do that consistently, I think I'd lean towards wanting him to play ahead of Meyers. Right now, I trust Coach Stotts to make the right choice between the two, and I think that it'd be silly to get rid of either one unless circumstances change pretty drastically.I think Robinson brings an energy on both ends of the floor that Meyers does not bring. They're both athletic, they both make silly mistakes, but Robinson has an extremely high motor. That kind of energy is contagious.

Not in this offense. Last night, TRob froze like a deer in the headlights when he needed to take a jump shot. He got the ball back and was finally forced to take, and miss, the shot. He'll never be the outside shooter Leonard already is. I don't believe in square pegs in round holes. Play to your strengths, and continue to improve on your weaknesses.Except Leonard wants to work on his outside shot, which seems pretty silly to me.

From what I've heard, Stotts has flat out told Robinson not to shoot that jumper, so that's why we saw him freeze like that. At the beginning of the year he would have jacked that shot without thinking twice, but from what Joel Freeman said, that was something that Stotts specifically talked to him about.
I believe that and I thought about it when it happened. It seems that Stotts sat TRob and gave him chapter and verse of what he needed to do differently. Prior to the benching I had noted more than once that TRob wanted to play like a SF, but I thought he should focus on defense, rebounding, and 'garbage' points, and look to pass more. This is largely why I do not believe in this 'not a coincidence' theory. TRob had issues. Since he's been back in the lineup, his play has been quite a bit different than it was previously. His role is more narrow and he seems to be focusing on it. Then came the outside shot on which he would not previously have hesitated. It's all part of the program. I'm down with the program. In Stotts I trust. From what I've heard, Stotts has flat out told Robinson not to shoot that jumper, so that's why we saw him freeze like that. Yup. I like that Robinson is looking to pass - he's pretty decent at it. But on that one play I think he took Stotts too literally - nothing was happening on the play and he probably should have taken the elbow jumper the first time it was passed to him, while there was some amount of "rhythm".From what I've heard, Stotts has flat out told Robinson not to shoot that jumper, so that's why we saw him freeze like that. Is there any way Philly would trade us Spencer Hawes for Meyers and TRob? Maybe give them a second round pick too? I'd look at doing a deal like that where we get a more experienced productive big. I don't think we will want to pick up their option years on rookie contracts that need to be decided on this summer so I'd see if we can flip both of them for a vet that can help us now.
