College Essay Help

before any of you start reading..please be 17 or olderAnyways, I am applying to colleges now such as Purdue, Arizona, etc. All these require a personal statement and I was wondering if some of you guys can give me tips on what to write. I understand it shouldnt just be a list of my interests and stuff but like waht tips do you gusy have? Thanks in advanced.edit: im applying to the accounting field.

I personally didn't have to write a personal statement when I applied to college but I kind of understand what it's about. I think you should write something about what your goals and ambitions in life are and how that certain college will help you achieve that goal. But don't take my word for it, wait and see what everybody else says....

I didn't write one either but I think bballinyao nailed it in terms of what to write. Talk about your achievements in and out of high school, goals, and what you plan on achieving through the college, ie. education, job, not drinking/bong hits. Maybe throw in any hardships you had gone through, and how you fought through it to get that opportunity to have a chance to gain more in college. Try to get the sympathy vote. Stuff like that.

I wrote one, but I didn't really give a sh*t since I was getting into A&M automatically.Write about diversity. Colleges eat that up like fried chicken. Or something.

In Texas if you are in the top 10% of your class you are automatically accepted into any texas public college.

I took the ACT practice test in 7th grade to determine if I would take an advanced course, I got a 21 overall, a 20 in math. It's terrible looking at it now, but for a 7th grader, that's a sick score. Especially when you don't read the English sections.
