I thinking LSU and Clemson are gonna come out on top. Really not a Buckeye fan. Would love to see the Sooners spoil a few people's holiday.

LSU OC Steve Ensminger's daughter-in-law dies in plane crash

ATLANTA - LSU offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger's daughter-in-law, Carley McCord, was one of five people killed in a plane crash in Lafayette, Louisiana, on Saturday.

McCord, a sideline reporter and sports talk radio host covering the New Orleans Pelicans, Saints and other sports, was traveling on a private plane to Atlanta to watch No. 1 LSU play No. 4 Oklahoma in a College Football Playoff semifinal at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.

Her husband, Steve Ensminger Jr., was already in Atlanta.

WDSU-TV in New Orleans, which employed McCord as a sideline reporter, issued a statement on McCord's death.

"We are devastated by the loss of such an amazing talent and valued member of our WDSU family," WDSU president and general manager Joel Vilmenay said in a statement. "Carley's passion for sports journalism and her deep knowledge of Louisiana sports, from high school to the professional ranks, made her an exceptional journalist. As we reflect on her impressive body of work, we offer our deepest condolences to her family."

McCord, 30, was a graduate of Northwestern State University and LSU. She previously worked as a sports reporter in Cleveland before returning to her hometown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The eight-person passenger plane crashed into the parking lot of a post office about 1 mile from the Lafayette Regional Airport, Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Tony Molinaro said.

Four people were brought to the hospital: one from the plane, one on the ground and two post office employees who were brought in for evaluation, Lafayette Fire Department spokesman Alton Trahan said.

Very sad!

This LSU/OK game is exactly why I didn't want Oregon in the CFB playoffs.

I'm happy with the Rose Bowl.

As I've been watching, I was thinking the same thing. Nothing worse than being good but being made look totally inept by a much, much better team.

It's Clemson vs OSU that I'm looking forward to. That is going to be a war!

Q

That's called sports...

Nope. College football on a national scale is nothing but brainwashing. No one should care about sny school with thr exception of the one you went to/parents went to/etc.

Watching any other college football game than that is a win for the media because they tricked you.

Professional sports is completety different. That can be any team for any reason. Most are blinded by media brainwashing (see: lakers fans)

Okay, I ranted. Thank you. That felt better.

Whats gonna be more epic is the week after when no one will even care who won the title except for the team who won it.

Waste of time. All college football is.

Yah, kinda like basketball and all other sports. If the Blazers were to win the championship this year (a real stretch I know), exactly as you state, no one will even care a week later other than Blazer fans (and whomever we beat).

That pretty much sums up all sports - they don't really matter.

I was asked who won the NBA championship last year, earlier this week and had to think about it lol...

That is true. They don't. I was more bitching about the media and how they brainwashed the masses into thinking follege football even matters on a national scare.

I must not be part of the mass. I know it doesn't matter but enjoy a good game. I barely made it to the second quarter of the LSU game because it wasn't a good game. Watched all of the Clemson-Ohio State game 'cause that was a darn good game.

Looking forward to the championship game. Do I care who wins? Nope. Just hoping for a good game. If it isn't, I'll be off to something else rather than waste my time watching.

College sports are pretty regional on the other side of the country cares a lot more than this side... A lot more.
