<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Real @ Feb 3 2008, 12:19 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I sincerely wish Collins all the best if he is indeed gone.
He came up big defensively against the Raptors and many other times in the course of his seven years here. Even if he should have been a bench player, he handled any role given to him, off the bench or starting with the utmost class and effort.
Yet he never got any awards or all-NBA defensive team. He had to settle for the respect of his teammates, coaches, and the local media.
And finally, instead of being lauded on this forum and others for his professionalism, defensive skills, and humbleness, he was more often than not attacked time and time again. It constantly amazes me how some on this forum can claim to be Net fans and attack (not criticize, the distinction is in the word) people like Jason Collins and Lawrence Frank who do nothing but dedicate themselves to being complete professionals on and off the court. People who dedicate themselves for the good of the team and never give less than 110% effort to win. People who go out of their way to treat people with respect, players, fans, and the media alike. I think it's embarassing quite frankly.</div>
really sweet post but that qualifies more the his personality then his on gme skills. collins gave 200% every game but that doesnt mean he wasnt horrible. the effort was there but the production was minimal
