Hell. At least it's legal. The Patriots deflates footballs in a championship game and no one cared. Isn't that big a deal...... Yes. I am a Jets fan.

As i remember they made a pretty big deal out of it.Hell. At least it's legal. The Patriots deflates footballs in a championship game and no one cared. Isn't that big a deal...... Yes. I am a Jets fan.
Yeah. I just want to see what kind of "punishment" the Pats get. Kraft ' s got his hand so far up Goodell ' s ass it's not even funny. As i remember they made a pretty big deal out of it.
My wife walks into the room. I'm watching the game. It's not the god damned free-throws that are boring and turn people off, its all the fucking time outs in the fourth quarter. Jesus christ, commercial breaks every 30 seconds of basketball. lol
Same could be said for defense on the opposing team though. Step your game up! Making one player hit free throws on the opposing team isn't winning it by defense.

Every 3 minutes of basketball for every quarter has a mandatory time out that is 2 minues + long. Add in the myraid of timeouts of 30 second (which is still 2 minutes) and full timeouts. I forget how many there are for each time (7? 6?) So say you have 15 of those mandatory time outs. (under 9 minutes, under 6, under 3, and at the end of 1st, 2nd, 3rd) That's 42 minutes right there. (15 x 2 + 12 for the halftime, though that varies depending on whose carrying the game.) On top of that, you have all the time outs that coaches have. Add all that up, you're well up over 80 minutes. That's an hour and 20 minutes of no action. More money for them, more boredom for us. Not to mention the 4th quarter slogfest it usually is. Games typically last 2 1/2 hours, but if you did the math of it all, over half of it is not action. That's just sad.

Or you could go simple. 48 minutes is actual play time. If it's 2.5 hours long, that's 1:45 of down time.![]()
That is not what I'm talking about. Say your down 6 with 3 minutes left and you go to hack-a-Jordan every time? Thats not trying to win by team defense. So they go to hack-a-Jordan or whomever to prove that one person can hit his free throws and keep the lead for his team.So you're down 2 with 9 seconds left and the shot clock off and they inbounds... Defense will win you the game? You expect a steal every time? They do all the defense on the full court press, after that, it's over. So there was your only rebuddle.
Could actually be said for both sides.Poor free throw shooting is poor basketball fundamentals.
I am, and will always be against making the game easier for players who have poor basketball fundamentals.
I am, and will always be for rewarding players who have solid basketball fundamentals.
Work on your craft, don't just rely on dunking, or for the refs/nba exe's to bail you out.
You get paid to play basketball. Play the game, work on your fundamentals.
I completely disagree. That is a legitimate defensive strategy. The object of defense is to disrupt the other team's flow, and to keep the other team from scoring, is it not? Let me answer that. Yes, it is.That is not what I'm talking about. Say your down 6 with 3 minutes left and you go to hack-a-Jordan every time? Thats not trying to win by team defense. I'm glad you aren't in charge.I would also be ok with letting a coach substitute his free throw shooter after he gets fouled two times in a row and goes to the line. That way this wouldn't happen.
I agree.Poor free throw shooting is poor basketball fundamentals.

Exactly. I don't believe this guy works on his free throws as much as he should. If he was putting in the work and time he would be putting up a higher percentage. Its a damn free throw. Plus, didn't the Blazers win a game in LA by doing this strategy? I love it.Let's go the other way and move the FT line out more 3 feet!
The plain truth is that about 80% of high school students can shoot FTs better than DJ - and that matters, and it should.
