What computer games do you guys play? I was thinking of getting one to burn some time. What are the best ones?

If you want to burn a lot of time, I hear World of Warcraft you can spend a lot of hours.

Shooters: (but I don't know if there are new better shooters out, they are like a 3-5 years old)
Counterstrike (I think Half-life 2 is out now, so maybe Counterstrike 2)
Metals of honour? (not sure if that is right, its the WWI game)

As well, some people like the Sims a lot.

From another thread the guys were saying something called Football manager?

I'd recommend Starcraft lol.

I used to play Starcraft when I was a lot younger. It was pretty fun but can be pretty addicting.

My brother plays Warcraft and I just don't see what the obsession over it is. He will sit there for hours and stuff and it's like he's wasting his life sitting in front of a computer screen. Rather than controlling all of those elves and pixies' lives he needs to do something with his own life.

I used to play Myst back in the day, but they've discontinued the series now. I don't play anything else anymore though.

F.E.A.R is an excellent first shooter game. It has a creepy story, and the AI is actually smart.

I used to play Age of Empires like crazy back in the day. After the 2nd one though, they revamped the graphics and I was too lazy to upgrade my comp.

Games that I have played since about the time I got my computer, and are still as good:

Baldurs Gate
Baldurs Gate II
Icewind Dale
Icewind Dale II
Planescape: Torment (perhaps the best game ever)
Fallout
Fallout 2 (second to Ps:T)

Other really good games:
Age of Empires II (with expansion)
Vampires the Masquerade: Bloodlines

Games I'm playing right now:
CSS
Medieval: Total War 2 (I don't play it that much, but I like the TW games)

I've been playing Starcraft since I was like 10. Highly addictive, and very fun to play with other people. That's pretty much the only computer game I play LOL!

Yep. I think it's pretty good, and I don't even like first person shooter games that much. I've never been a CS fan, but source is quite good because it has good graphics, and, the best part is that there are mods for the game. There are RPG mods where you can gain levels and abilities, there are deathmatch mods with instant respawning and weapon selection (instead of having to buy them), special maps and much more. It's a good game.

I've played Counter-Strike, Starcraft, Age of Empires in my day... not anymore though. I have Warcraft III too but never got into it.

I dont play computer games, I only play on console, the only series I own is GTA and Madden

I am much the same, I like using a controller instead of keyboard/mouse and I like i don't have to upgrade my console to play games.

Unfortunately I'm too broke to buy an Xbox 360. PS2 broke.

I have a pretty sweet computer by I only play warcraft 3 ROC. Don't confuse with World of Warcraft, thats for nerds. Warcraft 3 is a stradegy game alla Age of Empires.

i used to play Age of Empires alot. i have the number III and its expansion, its pretty good and the graphics are 10 times better.

I play Counter Strike (1.6 baby), but I haven't really played objective maps in a while, I usually do awp_map or soccerjam, with the occasional aim_akcolt.

I used to play Empire Earth a little bit when I was slightly younger, pretty damn fun game. Considering I was never into those strategy type games until then.

I guess because it really tests your ability to plan and carry out multiple tasks to be successful.

iceworld and playhouse(if anybody still plays that) are my favorite non objective maps.
