U of P, Gonzaga, annnnd.....?

She'll be fine going to a Catholic school. They are usually very well funded.

And expensive. My cousins went to Santa Clara. Couple hundred thousand dollars later they got their shiny degrees. Ones a stay at home mom.

I’m sure your daughter we’ll be getting most of her schooling on scholarship though.

Between them wanting her to come play soccer and her 3.95 GPA…..we are HOPING!

Some of the smartest people ever were agnostic; Einstein, Ben Franklin, Darwin, Alexander Graham Bell….etc.

Some of the most gullible went to Liberty University.

...and she is majoring in "Strategic Communications" so she can work at a family/pro bono law firm :dunno: interesting strategy there -- no mention of Law School or paralegal work -- then does that just mean an "educated" executive assistant job?

She just finished up her sophomore year of HS. College recruiting for soccer officially started this week. She had a list of about 25 schools that she sent out her resume/highlights/grades…….to. Her preferences were based on location/majors available/soccer program. Usually these kids sign their senior season, but 3 of her top choices reached out to her at 12:01am! So it’s narrowed down to UofP, Gonzaga and Loyola Marymount. We haven’t even discussed the religious side of things yet. It’s not a deal breaker if they want to give her scholarships and pay for her education.

I went to LMU. They don't force you to go to any mass (Pepperdine does), they are pretty liberal leaning as well. I took like one religion class the whole time there, I think you can take one that compares different religions. Its pretty good with diversity, but lately , its become a spoiled Orange County type of crowd from what I hear, all the rich parents send their kids there rather than USC nowadays, its gotten really expensive. The facilities are top notch though, they must be rollin it it.

My first keg was pumped by a Jesuit Priest, it was a "welcome" to all students that went to a Jesuit High school, they were chill.

I'm 31 and the only time i've ever been in a church was for my cousin's wedding when I was a baby, i'm a pretty good heathen.

SanteeSioux, you're the reason the Blazers can't have anything nice.

Isn't it about time to start calling her Ms.?

Isn’t liberty university that school where the president and creator of the school watches college kids bang out his wife?
And was founded as a segregation academy.

Lots of colleges were founded by some religion but have become essentially secular - think Yale or Brandeis. Others like Notre Dame and Georgetown retain religious affiliation but attract people outside that faith because of something they have to offer. A school like Liberty or Bob Jones has poor academics and exists not to educate but to keep the faithful away from any other ideas or people different from themselves.

Hayes, 20, is a student at Liberty University with a major in strategic communications. Her goal is to work in a law firm focusing on family and pro bono work.....

I think that's fantastic! Good for her. From all I've seen, I've always admired her father, Dennis Hayes, as a great husband and father. Shoot, their whole family is amazing. God Bless them!

When Liberty University says focus on family what they mean is no rights for gays.

This is a thread about a wonderful young woman who happens to attend there. Is it your intention to trash her for that decision?

It does seem like an extremely poor decision, but young people often do stupid things.

Well, with a name like barfo, we certainly know you did and/or do.

yeah...he barfs?

I guess that's funny?

I think it's ridiculous that people are belittling her because she attends Liberty University. Actually I'm not sure if people are belittling her or ABM for posting the thread? Either way it's ridiculous.

So it wasn't funny.

Don't be a clown........errrr..wait.
