Damn it, HCP. I wanted you to show him getting thrown out of a game. He's the only broadcaster I know to have that accomplishment!

Kind of a lame ending. You need to go back and fix it.

There is NO footage of him getting kicked out! Been trying for years to get it.

What kind of a producer are you? Don't you know how to make it up?

Sheeeeit. I been with the Blazers for a lot longer than that...

He was tossed on the road at Indiana, right? Probably if anybody had footage, it would be some station in Indiana. I'm surprised that there isn't audio for it, since he was doing radio at the time. With no direct evidence existing of it ever happening, this event has become truly legendary.

I think Washington, and we've asked them for it. Nothin'!

I remember hearing the audio of it. I distinctly remember Mike Rice asking the ref (Javie?) "who are YOU?"

Javie is the only official that I ever considered driving down to the arena to meet after the game with a baseball bat.

You were right; it was Indiana. It would have to have been March 1, 1994.

Pacers 106, Blazers 94

The Portland Trail Blazers had a six-game winning streak snapped and lost their radio analyst in the process -- he was ejected by a referee...Indiana took control in a wild third quarter when the Blazers were called for two technical fouls and had their radio analyst, Mike Rice, ejected from press row by Referee Steve Javie.

The Pacers wiped out Portland's last lead, 51-50, with a 10-0 run that included a technical on Cliff Robinson, who objected when a foul call on Dale Davis was changed to a blocked shot. Rice was then ejected after complaining to Javie. Rice is in his fourth season as a Blazers analyst and is a former coach at Duquesne and Youngstown State.

...Portland Coach Rick Adelman complained about a foul on Clyde Drexler against Miller. Adelman was hit with a technical, and Miller made all three free throws. "It's a grand example of a guy losing control," Adelman said of Javie. "He has kicked out mascots, color men, fans. I guess they can do what they want, and we can't do anything."

SuperSonics 112, Hornets 96

Seattle's starting backcourt of Kendall Gill and Gary Payton broke loose in the second half and finished with 21 and 20 points, and the SuperSonics came on strong in the fourth quarter to defeat visiting Charlotte. The Sonics, who have the N.B.A.'s best record at 40-14, are 22-3 at home.

22-3 at home, that's .880. Seattle had no problem generating attendance in Whitsitt's last season there. Who knew what was to come. Ackerley, the owner who fired him a couple of months after this game, was the same moron who then forced the new arena's footprint to be too small to hold a hockey rink. That was the excuse later to move.

It actually took place during a time out as I recall. So the mikes were off. The TV, if any that night, were on commercial break. Nowadays, of course, there'd be dozens of homemade cell phone videos but back in the dark ages of mid-90s, it appears a historic moment went undocumented.

Yes, it was Indiana. I remember Rice's write-up in Rip Citymag about the play between "Clifford of Connecticut" (Cliff Robinson) and "Dastardly Dale Davis". May have been a tad embarrassing when Dastardly Dale Davis became a Blazer.

There is NO video of what happened. Trust me!

Says the man who kept asking Washington for Indiana's footage. If the Pacers had "pacervision" like Portland had "blazervision" it's possible it was caught on camera, since they filmed during timeouts (no commercials on a pay-per-view channel)

Listen you pricks....... They have been trying to acquire said footage way before I came around..... nada!

What about the video of Mike Rice boning your wife from last week? Why didn't that make the video?!

I think the Washington thing everyone is thinking of is when Javie threw out their mascot.
