Well, if Conley is also out for Game 5, we may not actually lose. Imagine that. It sort of evens things out for us being without Wes.
Keep in mind, we outscored MEM in both the 3rd and 4th quarters last night, and that was even with all the intentional fouling over the last two minutes.
Yes, you want to beat the best and beat them at full strength, but we're not full strength and MEM hasn't seen us play anywhere close to our best ball in this series. You hate to see a player get injured. Conley is a good player and seems like a great guy. I wish him a speedy and complete recovery, but his absence could turn the tide of this series. They will miss him running their offense, but even more they will miss his lock down defense on Dame. Udrih and Calethes may be able to score as much (or almost as much) as Conley, but neither can guard Lillard the way Conley can.
This is why they continue to play the games, even when down 0-3. Prior to last night, the last Blazers playoff game I'd attended was Game 6 against Dallas in 2003 when we came back from being down 0-3 to force Game 7. I have tickets for Game 6 this year, too and hope I get to use them.
