The drumbeat is growing to get hardware chain Lowe’s to apologize for pulling advertising from TLC’s “All-American Muslim,” as a leading liberal group announced a petition-drive and a Democratic lawmaker denounced the home improvement store on the House floor.
The Florida Family Association had called the reality show — which features Muslim families in Dearborn, Mich. — “propaganda that riskily hides the Islamic agenda’s clear and present danger to American liberties and traditional values.”
...
"Our concern with 'All-American Muslim' is it does not accurately represent the term Muslim, which is a follower of Islam." David Caton is the group's president. "And a follower of Islam believes in the radicalization, use of Sharia Law, which provides for honor killings, mutilation of women, and numerous other atrocities to women."

It appears that their efforts have backfired since ad time for next Sunday's "All-American Muslim" episode is apparently sold out. I hope the show helps people understand the Islamic faith better.

Isn't TLC the channel that has that creepy kids fashion show? Priorities people!

I was just in Florida for a week. Got back yesterday. First day there, somebody was skywriting "Jesus Loves U" from an airplane over our side of the DisneyWorld monstrosity.

No surprise that this group would hail from Florida.

That minister that wanted to organize the Koran burnings was from Florida too.

I met up with a pretty liberal cousin of mine who moved from Minnesota to Tampa 5 years ago. He said they caused a huge scene by putting up an Obama sign in their lawn in 2008. It's like the opposite of Portland in Tampa. Instead of two Dems running against each other for mayor, it is two GOPs.

despicable, racists

I hope it helps people understand just how implausible and hateful and wasteful all religions are.

I hope it helps people understand the basic principles of aircraft design.

Well, religious bigotry isn't racism, but I understand your point.

I know a few Muslims, and they're fine Americans as the TV show portrays. On 9/11, I told more than one of those friends to watch out for idiots who think any Muslim is in bed with terrorists. I feared for their safety, and still do.

A little bit of common sense will tell you there are plenty of great American Muslims in all walks of life. Scientists, teachers, many prominent athletes, and the guys who run the local cigar shop.

Saying all Muslims are like radical Islamist is like saying all Christians are like Westboro Baptist Church members.

But in today's Fox News society, "us vs. them" hysteria doesn't work well if you start saying "well, they ALL aren't out to kill me!".

This is also called "Obama's Society". I've never seen a president attack demographic groups of his own citizens like the douchebag who somehow read his way into the presidency. It's ripping this country apart.

Re: Conservative Fringe Group Pressures Advertisers of Program Featuring American Mus

ahhh, the us vs. them started with Obama, huh?

Bush certainly didn't use class warfare from the presidential pulpit. Obama flat out demonizes his own citizens, based on either economics or location. Find me one example of Bush pitting one group of citizens against each other. With Obama, it's consistent.

Chris blaming "Fox News" for the current climate is hilarious considering that our own President is as big an offender as anybody in the country.

Repeatedly railing against "Wall Street Fat Cats" is very presidential, isn't it? This clown has lowered the office of the presidency to the level of a community agitator, and the funny thing is, people that support him either refuse to accept it, or have some sort of congnitive dissonance that blocks out the sheer divisive nature of the clown.
