To keep their generational superstar in his prime (and who likes it there), MIL doing what they thought they had to keep him is understandable. I like the Turner move. I don’t like stretching so many Dame years at that cost. And they lack draft picks and control, too.

Buying out a big contract of one year? Okay. No stretching!
Two years? Hope it’s fewer $$$.
Three? Nope. Unless you have Giannis …

Let compare their salaries now…

why do people keep saying this?

there's no either/or choice for Portland. They have Grant at his salary. Why would Portland trade for a one-dimensional shitty defender with a 3 year deal to be 4th or 5th in the forward rotation behind Deni-Camara-Grant-Thybulle?

hard to believe people think this is a good idea. Who does Portland trade, Timelord or Thybulle? and how many 2nd's would it take?

Have heard this idea a lot. The BlazerSurprise youtube guys talk about it many times on their streams too. I think the theory is we absorb Kispert into our MLE for 2nd round picks or such.

I'd prefer not to. I love the idea of building an elite defensive squad. We legit might be a top5 defense this year. If we can try to roll the dice on another Thybulle like 2nd/3rd string option I'm all for it. Kispert doesn't have the defense to fit with that new direction.

Yeah the offense and shooting is going to be a major concern. But screwing up the defense just plugs one hole in the boat - while making a new one. Better to take a gamble on some guy possibly providing some offense shooting with average or better level defense. Yes thats unlikely at roster spot 14 but its not impossible. I don't like Kris Murray at all - but its more likely he gets hot from 3 than it is Kispert becomes good at D.

PASS.

And where do his minutes even come from? Seriously I don't see us bringing anyone in unless they have a clear spot in the rotation. That's why Grant would need to go as well.

BOS wants to keep Hauser so looking to dump Anfernee

I agree. Finding a better 2-way forward than Grant is certainly possible, but not easy. I think after getting rid of Ayton and Simons, we should just keep him since he can shoot. Especially if the goal is to try to make the playoffs and finally get out from under the Chicago rights to our non-lottery pick.

Other than his contract, Grant is pretty much the type of player we need to go along with Tou and Deni. No one else will be getting any minutes. And those minutes that are left can go to a cheap player we already have. (Duop, Rupert, Murray, Williams, or maybe even Sidy? ) Kispet is probably a better shooter than any of those, but a better overall player than all of them?

Completely agree. Just say No to Kispert.
