I just wanna say at about what appears might be the midpoint, that if this thread gets bigger than the “Carmelo To Portland With Extra Fiber” thread I am going to be extremely pissed off. That was the most epic thread in S2 history (or at least in the five years I’ve been here). The Carmelo thread was waaaaaaaaayyyyyy more interesting than this clusterfuck........and the ending to the story was waaaaaaayyyyy more entertaining........

Well, at least with that one it mostly ended with him signing with another team. So if Corona follows suit and signs with another team (disappears), I think the record is safe.

Although, Anthony did end up in Portland, so...bad analogy.

I don't get why people try to do fake videos like that. Usually they're not funny, and almost always, they're really dumb.
To be fair, most of the crap that's copied and pasted or linked from the web/twitter/facebook is false or fabricated by people with too much time or their hands.

About 6 percent of Miami-Dade’s population — about 165,000 residents — have antibodies indicating a past infection by the novel coronavirus, dwarfing the state health department’s tally of about 10,600 cases, according to preliminary study results announced by University of Miami researchers Friday.

The study, spurred by Miami-Dade County officials, will be an ongoing weekly surveybased on antibody testing — randomly selecting county residents to volunteer pinpricks of their blood to be screened for signs of a past COVID-19 infection, whether they had tested positive for the virus in the past or not. The goal is to measure the extent of infection in the community.

This is the 5th antibodies test that has an infection rate of around 4-6% of the actual population.

It doesn't take a comment by Trumpy for people to do stupid stuff

People have been doing stupid things for a lot longer than we have been around, but that does not excuse the wreckless stupidity shown by trump. He is the leader and is suppose to lead, not be a sideshow Bob.

OMG! It's Melo! It's Melo! :Sly:

Ahh The Avalanches, great Aussie band. Saw them quite a few times in the late 90’s/early 2000’s before their infamous, extremely long hiatus.

I love the Avalanches. Their original music is great and their Gimix mix of other people's music is amazing.

Come on, can't you tell when I'm kidding?
I am not serious when I make these outlandish statements. If I'm triggering a serious response then that is certainly not my intention.
If you think there are others in here who are reasonably mistaking my intention as serious than please tell me because I do not desire that to happen.
What I am saying here is because it looks like you are irritated with my kidding around which I don't understand.

I was just being sarcastic

I realize that, but we are all taught, we are responsible for our own actions! At least that what I taught my kids....there were many times I would tell my son just because a bud says to do something or does something stupid doesn't me you have to. Exercise some common!

Did you read why Singapore had such an outbreak? It’s because of the migrant workers they have that are shacked up 10-12 to a room. One person gets sick and they all get sick.

Well Trump and his task force is really the only ones saying it will weaken or go away when the weather gets warmer.

From Christmas Eve until New Years first my wife got seriously ill and after caring for her I got the bug.....it was brutal flu...we now wonder if it was connected to the west coast wave of virus or if our flu survival helps with our immunity now. Some think the numbers here on the west coast are because of our winter flu season

It just entered Myanmar which is brutally hot and humid this time of year and it's in hot humid parts of South America, Phillipines, etc....We know it lives in the tropics or sub tropics as well as colder regions...I read that an increase from 68 degrees to 98 degrees in a very short time period can kill it but that's the hair dryer theory....bleach killed SARS in Taiwan pretty much but not from injesting the stuff like Trump has recommended

to me, the problem with that take, other than it's weakly supported, is the math

if Covid has a .13% mortality rate, then with 53,000 dead, that would mean 41 million people in the US have had Covid. That's doesn't seem credible at all to me

Mine was December 10-24. I was seriously bad. Dry unproductive cough for 4 days straight, major headaches, body aches, fever and really lethargic.

I think the 5 current studies show the mortality rate is around 0.6-0.8% based on the antibodies studies.

now that is more credible mathematically

with 53,000 dead, that would put total covid cases around 7.6 million....looks reasonable

the other side of the coin is that the current numbers don't look credible either. With 53,000 dead among 940,000 cases, that's a 5.6% mortality rate. That's not believable.

Agreed. By the way. I am not trying to discount the seriousness of this pandemic. Just sharing all I get from all sides.

Trump has US right "up" there with Venezuela. I think Trump can overtake them.

I’m curious what our tests per million in NY, CA and NJ. I think this is an unfair metric because our population is so vast in comparison. India, Indonesia, and China would be in the same field. How are we compared to them?
