Bullshit.
Reverse racism much???

If there's one thing that is laughable, it's the made up phrase "reverse racism".

Pointing out that the odds are if a white person is wielding a gun at a demonstration, or in a situation where the police are called in, they're less likely to get shot than someone of color is not "racism" or the made up "reverse racism".

Especially since "reverse racism" is just a dog whistle phrase made to give people a chance to be a victim or claim they were victimized by some perceived wrong doing or slight against the dominant culture that is either not real nor caused by an act of racism.

Don't be that guy.
im not there and im not caucasian. Im also a republican. Wanna generalize some more?

You're also making no sense there. You're *not* there and you're *not" Caucasian and you're also *republican*. Want to make totally irrelevant arguments some more?

I could understand if I said "all white people do this", but I didn't say anything remotely close to that.

Our how about i just start saying anyone with the name Julius is a racist. Would that generalization equate to yours???

You can go ahead and do that. But the difference would be I would actually understand the point you'd be (poorly) trying to make, and laugh at it because it really makes no sense. Whereas you missed, by a country mile, the point I was making. So go ahead and make that statement, and I'll just laugh at it.

Wtf dude?

Do you even know what the term racist means? No where did I say that white people are worse than other people or that any particular race is inherently better than another.

In cases where there are groups of people gathering, and this group happens to be white, it's hard to deny that white people tend to be treated differently by authority figures, than that of people who are not white and are gathering in groups. Hell, there don't even have to be guns. They could just be having a BBQ in a park in Oakland. Or they're in their own apartment. Or they're playing in a park. Or they're jogging. Or they're selling cigarettes. Or they're wearing a hoodie. Or driving their own car doing nothing illegal.

Ask any person of color, and they'll say there are certain rules they have to follow that white people don't.

In all those cases, no where am I implying all white people are one thing or that white people are inferior to others (or anyone is inferior/better than others). It was, albeit sardonically, pointing out that there's a pattern here.

You're denying of the pattern is pretty obvious.

nice deflections.
In the end you said they were there because they are caucasion. its black and white right there in your post. You can play it all off with your long explanation all you want
Do i know what racism is?
Yes. Its in your post i quoted.end of story.

Own your shit. Don't make a bunch of excuses.
Are you joining the s2 hypocrite group now too????

You really need to learn history and buy a dictionary.

right.
And you need to learn not to twist your own statements around.

instead of a long winded bullshit post. Why dont you point out what ISNT racist Bout what you said???
To say some people walked into a business with guns because they are caucasion is a generalizing racial comment.

it would be no different than me saying people who eat catfish are black.
Its a generalizing racist comment.
Sorry if you aRe too jaded to see it.

rac·ist
/ˈrāsəst/

noun
noun: racist; plural noun: racists
  1. a person who shows or feels discrimination or prejudice against people of other races, or who believes that a particular race is superior to another.
"the comments have led to her being called a racist"
    adjective
adjective: racist
  1. showing or feeling discrimination or prejudice against people of other races, or believing that a particular race is superior to another.
"we are investigating complaints about racist abuse at the club"

Where did I show either definition? Because I didn't say one race was superior to another anywhere in my post. No where did I show a prejudicial notion in the post either.

Again, please learn history and invest a dictionary.

Trying to figure why on one hand someone would "like" your post yet then go on to dispute that very post. :dunno:

I assume it was an accident, since the reply/quote buttons are right next to the like button.

Saying that the reason they are able to be less bothered by authorities because they're white is not even remotely close to the same as saying "people who eat catfish are black".

And the fact you think that is an accurate analogy is pretty weird to me. Especially since one is a prejudicial statement, and the other is a statement on an event.

And usually when people complain about racism/prejudicial comments, the comments that say negative things about people. Saying these people are white and thus are less likely to get flack from authorities (compared to that of a similar situation with POC), is not a negative thing about people.

It's called being able to look at a lot of events over the course of our countries history, and realizing that white privilege is a real thing.

If anything, you should be bent out of shape of me implying there is such a thing as white privilege. Although, in a way, 'reverse racism' and people saying 'that's racist against white people', is the modern way to deny that white privilege exists. So maybe you did?

Are you kidding?

no you didn't say directly one race is superior over the other.
You insinuated a race was doing something because of being of a particular race. Insinuating what they were doing was stupid because they were caucasion.
Implying other races are smarter.
Which is racist.

Im done with this if you are actually deciding that bullshit statement and cant admit it was prejudiced/racist against caucasians.
i expect this type of deflection from other posters.
Didn't think you would join that club....

I do not believe that's what you were saying or meant in your posts at all.

Thats why you said it subliminally. You slipped in there you think they were treated differently for being white. Your opinion is because they are white, they are allowed to do something others cant.

Im calling bullshit.

I will say, id have to scroll back. If i said you were racist i didn't mean that. I meant the post or viewpoint is racist.
If you think they get preferential treatment because they are white, how is that not a racial profile? Especially put how you put it?
Im not saying preferential treatment doesn't exist. Im saying the assumption it happened because they were white is a prejudiced comment based on race.
To me that's a racist comment. Not saying you are racist.

You are generalizing all people of one race with an obvious jaded viewpoint.

i maybe didnt come at tou right from the beginning, but i stand by my point that that comment is the same thing as lumping all blacks together saying they are criminals.

blacks are criminals and white have privilege

Both are wrong.

Im saying be better than that.

if you want to stop generalizing black racism, then stop generalizing white privilege.

neither are black and white and both have many levels.

Context matters. I looked back at my post and I think I can see what the issue is.

I took @calvin natt s comment as saying they are foolish for doing it and how is it they (or anyone) can think they can do that.

I took it as him saying "how is it they can do this and not feat getting in trouble", whereas I think you must have interpreted his comment different than I did.

I meant mine as a comment on how different people get different responses when they do that, you took it as me saying they did it BECAUSE they were white.

I meant they where able to get away with it BECAUSE they were white.

The context clues in both of our posts/responses to each other should have been a good hint that we were not arguing/discussing the same subject/point.

Good catch!

:)

I indeed did read his comment differently than you and thus took your comment differently.

Sorry about that and thanks for looking it up to clarify. :)

This is what I thought you were saying and I agree with it. If a group of black guys entered a business armed with guns and a rocket launcher or stormed a state capital, the situation would be treated differently. These guys are able to get away with that because they are white. That is white privilege.

Only one of those is wrong.

Oth are wrong to blindly generalize. Privilege has degrees. Not all white have privilege. Most can, yes. Some take Advantage, yes.

But not all whites have the same privileges aNd not all of them take advantage of what levels they do have.

im still a believer that to get rid of prejudices, racism, it cant be countered with sweeping labels.
Those being labeled will unite at the thought of being lumped together, in opposition.
If both sides could detect and isolate their troubles from within, which i believe needs to happen for any type of equality to come about,
Then they are both wrong in regards to repairing anything.

But all white people do have SOME level of privilege just by being white and walking into 7-eleven at midnight and nobody cares. All Black people have to deal with some racism throughout their lives. 100%. Black kids have to have the thought in their mind when they are waking down the street that they are black in a white neighborhood and what could happen. My kids don’t.

This is not 100% true though. I have witnessed and been with Black people walking into a store late at night( me being white with them maybe had an influence?), and no issues.

Ive seen some seriously fucked up meth head white boys walk into a store and get openly denied any business just because. So my point is its not 100% and we need to stop generalizing everything as if it is. Republican viewpoints differe from one to the next. Same with Dems.

Same with cops, some are good some are bad. Blacks, whites, asians., etc.

to get over the racism hump, we need to stop using the race card for anything. Positive or negative and take each incident and dissect it on its own. Some incidents will be determined to have racial motivations, etc. but we just need to stop lumping people together. It does no good for mot anyone.

That's my point really.

I truly believe the sooner we get to this point, we will then have taken a large step to creating true equality, but without this happening, no more steps will be taken for improvement. This is why I preach it. I think its truly important and will helps us all move together as one unified human race.

So for me it can get frustrating when I see or hear people who voice the want of equality, but continue to use divisive language.

How on earth can we all consider each other equal if we keep separating ourselves through language and action?
