While no one was paying attention, Barr dropped all charges against the two corrupt Russian companies for interfering in 2016 elections.

Amazon groceries has no open delivery windows. So don't try getting groceries from them. I just wasted time trying to place an order.
Oh man, we had them Ruskies right where we wanted them

The land of make believe

Apparently this virus is everywhere but the maggot governor in Washington decided my mom wasn't welcome after being released from quarantine.

You liberals disgust me in every way.
Yeah, cause we here at S2 did this. Be angry. Don't be angry at randos on a message board that have nothing to do with your mother's terrible situation. I am sorry to hear about her troubles.

Do you have a link to a news story on this?

If not you should contact the Seattle news stations and tell them.

I'm sorry you and your mom is going through this, it has to be very stressful.

SlyPokerDog would jerk off Inslee in public if asked.

I'd snap his arm at the wrist and poke his eye out with his own Ulna.

There isn't a better way of describing the differences between the two of us.

Exact words from my 90 year old grandmother who lived through 5 million times worse........

..It seem after they had all the people on the bus to go to the airport our fair gov. decided the Washington people could not come home. No one has been ill but none the less they had to stay there. What a crock. G-ma

I disagree as Obama was one that helped bring the country together for the most part. Get rid of trump and cocaine Mitch McConnel and I think we would see a dramatic improvement.
At least one and maybe both are gone this November.

even if 1 in every ten americans get it, a 1.7% mortaility rate is 600k people dead

No to mention that 600K people plus, say another million or so who are deathly ill but would recover under current conditions, so vastly exceeds the capacity of our medical system that the death rate would shoot up to more like 4-5%. THIS IS NOT THE FRICKING SEASONAL FLU, PEOPLE!

I have to say though... We should be pretty happy about the trend just calculating the numbers in the US, the death rate is going down just about every time I look. I've been checking here every day :
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
A week or two ago it was up around 5% and it's currently sitting just under 1.6, yesterday it was 1.8. That's a good trend. There are a few things, this virus spreads pretty rapidly and we are testing a lot more people (hopefully) so the numbers are going to continue to rise - I don't think the cases rising is a cause for panic at all -, but if the amount of "mild" cases continues to go up and the death rate continues to go down that is good. What we have to be concerned with is if severe cases rise and people unable to recover.

The researchers modeled the virus’s natural spread in China before the government instituted a travel ban and an aggressive testing policy. During that time, from December of last year through late January, about 6 in 7 cases went undetected. That situation is analogous to the current state of affairs in the United States and other Western countries, where tests are not widely available, the researchers said.

“If we have 3,500 confirmed cases in the U.S., you might be looking at 35,000 in reality,” said Jeffrey Shaman, an epidemiologist at Columbia University and the senior author of the new report, which was posted by the journal Science.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/16/health/coronavirus-statistics-undetected.html

If that is the case, then of the ~8200 deaths so far from ~207, 000 confirmed cases, that means you could have over 1,400,000 cases and your mortality rate drops to around 1/2 of 1%.

Yes, the stats we’re seeing here look far better than the ones released by the W.H.O., but they reflect our current readily available ICU and emergency care system. Nobody can say with any certainty what the actual stats are since there hasn’t been anywhere near enough testing. The fact remains that if our medical system gets overwhelmed, people who would otherwise receive needed treatment, won’t be able to get it and many will unnecessarily die.

Hospitals being charged $7.00 each for masks that usually cost $0.50 each.

Like you said though if we can't trust any of the numbers, it's a huge "if", because we really don't know. A majority of people who have gotten it looks like are not being hospitalized so that is also a good trend in terms of the stress on the health system.
Obviously I'm just looking at one set of data, there are others. I am just of the opinion that with the current numbers I have seen it looks better than what they've predicted, and I hope that trend continues.

Mortality rate is << 1.7% *testing
Whoopdee fucking doo.

Do the math, even if it's 0.17%, and 10% of the population get it, that's 60k dead in just a period of months.

I can't understand the people who keep trying to sweep this under the rug. Open your eyes.

Our hospitals are already overwhelmed. There are people who exhibit all the symptoms and are suffering, while yet to get officially tested. I suppose some people dont give one damn about elderly people dying. Just hope they wake the fuck up before it's too late.

This...we need to keep in mind that those elderly people who have died or will die, are someone's spouse, sibling, parent, grand parent, etc.
