Daily Covid cases are now falling in seven U.S. states and no state is recording more than a 300% increase over the past two weeks as Omicron spread begins to slow
  • Covid cases are now decreasing in seven U.S. states, New Jersey, Maryland, New York, Michigan, Georgia, Florida and Connecticut
  • Only 23 states have had Covid cases double over the past two weeks, after more than 40 were recording 10% changes or higher at points last week
  • Only eight states have case changes of over 200%, after nearly every western state was recording tripling cases last week
  • No state has had it's daily Covid case average jump by 300% or more within the past 14 days
  • Tennessee is now the leader in Covid mortality rate and Rhode Island holds its longtime lead of infection rates

In Israel 75% of the eligible population got at least 1 dose, vs. 73% in the us, fully vaccinated (2 doses) rate is 65% vs. the US's 63%, where Israel is ahead of the US is in booster - at almost 50% vs. 25% - but anyone who says that Israel is highly vaccinated is wrong. They are only slightly ahead of the US.

So let me get this straight. UncleCliffy'sDaddy wrote:

I believe strongly that we would be far beyond our current fucked up situation if the majority of Americans had had the maturity to deal with this disease as we dealt with previous diseases, i.e.; through the use of vaccinations.

To which johnnyboy quoted and responded with:

Data from every country with higher vaccination rates than us strongly suggests otherwise. Your strong belief may be in good intention, but it isn’t backed by anything scientific or data-driven. Israelis are already pondering their 5th shot now after admitting the SECOND booster is virtually ineffective against omicron. Still spreading like crazy.

Slypokerdog then posts an article regarding Israel that includes:

As elsewhere, Israel has seen COVID-19 cases spiral due to Omicron. But it has logged no deaths from the variant, and Ash said there had been no increase in COVID-19 patients on ECMO machines - a gauge of the most critical cases."
So based on the article, and virtually every other article, UncleCliffy'sDaddy appears to be correct. Our current fucked up situation with the hospitals would not be nearly as dire if more people had the vaccine. People would not be getting turned away for things like elective surgery. People would not be getting treated in the hallways.

Johnnyboy is now solely focused on case rate when that wasn't even what UncleCliffy'sDaddy was referring to? Sounds about right.

Well, he wrote a lot more than that in his original post, you only quoted a single part to try and make your argument appear chronologically correct, which it isn’t. Prior to the part you quoted he made NO mention of hospitalizations. He only went that route AFTER I referenced data from highly vaccinated countries showing high transmission. I even called this out in a later comment, which you didn’t read obviously.

But once again I will say…Hospitalizations are going down, deaths are going down, continually. The unhinged hatred toward people based on their vaccination status is becoming more and more irrelevant by the day, and increasingly more irrational and nonsensical, not only morally but mathematically.

I quoted the part you quoted... duh.

He definitely referenced hospitals in that same post. Good God man. Here's his post:

My comment has absolutely nothing to do with hysteria and everything to do with basic common sense. I have made my position on the unvaccinated extremely clear in the past and made it equally clear that I was entirely unapologetic or unashamed of my opinion. Nor was I willing to debate it’s merits (or lack thereof). Fuck those selfish assholes who care don’t care about anyone but themselves. I believe strongly that we would be far beyond our current fucked up situation if the majority of Americans had had the maturity to deal with this disease as we dealt with previous diseases, i.e.; through the use of vaccinations. Sorry if my take on my fellow sorry ass Americans offends your sensibilities. But fuck anyone who is unvaccinated. Fuck ‘em all, big and small. If they come down with Covid they should be turned away from hospitals and sent home to deal with it however it goes. It’s called “accountability”. Their selfishness is preventing those who actually need the hospital to be turned away. True story, so spin away to keep the narrative going. Otherwise, I tend to agree with you that the tests are a political and media driven agenda……..
But once again I will say…Hospitalizations are going down, deaths are going down, continually.
A quick check of the recent numbers says they haven't been continually going down, as was the case a few days ago when you posted the same thing.

Just so we’re clear, your opinion is no more (or less) valid than mine. It is strictly your opinion, with no facts to back it up. You too appear to have “Covid Burnout” and express it the same way I do. Only our viewpoints diverge. Your take on people who disdain antivaxxers is absolutely no more or less defensible than my take on antivaxxers. I wouldn’t call “hatred” of antivaxxers “unhinged”, nor would I even call it “hatred”. But disgust is certainly an accurate term…….we’re slinging opinions back and forth, using data selected to back up our individual viewpoints. I’m still open to the truth being somewhere in the middle…..if it even exists at all.

Facts actually refute his opinion... But some people don't let facts get in their way when they have the opportunity to play the wonderful game of Semantics.

Anybody who says Isreal is highly vaccinated is either ignorant of the facts or biased beyond reason.

The only unhinged hatred I've seen around the covid situation has come from people who get enraged when asked to wear a mask in a store or on an airplane....that's rage you can put into a distinct group of mindsets. They are similar to extremely drunk drivers in my view.

What Israel had in it's favor - they started boosting people before anyone - so when Omicron hit - they were ahead of the curve in that regard.

Also, you have to remember that Israel fights the anti-vaxxers with mandates. They have what they call the "Green Pass" - the Green Pass imposes restrictions on the movement of individuals who had not been vaccinated or who had not recovered.

So, Israel's success in minimizing healthcare overload and deaths is by issuing a mandate around vaccination - which is a reasonable way of going about it - your freedom is maintained if you do not want to get the vaccine - but you have restrictions on harming / endangering others.

But do they let horses go upstairs?

I literally quoted nothing in this article. Not one single thing. Nor did I attempt to. So you’ve defeated your own premise in the first sentence. But, I’ll bite anyway. Where’s the part that supports the unhinged hatred against the unvaccinated? I argued against the notion that the unvaccinated were killing others. Who? Other unvaccinated people, (maybe)? Why do you care? Fuck em, right? Or are the hospitals “full” again today? That is usually the argument that follows the crumbling of the “we’re all gonna die” narrative. This article you linked proves exactly the point I was making by the way. Extremely high vaccination rate, extremely high case rate. Doesn’t stop spread, clearly. If the vaccine works against morbid sickness, great! Go get it. Nothing here supports the misguided notion that I’m going to kill you with my cooties.

Shit, I wasn’t even talking about your posts. Your responding to mine is very telling, though. Speaks volumes…

Then, there's the aforementioned mom on the Mike Rowe Show, who ardently followed all you had prescribed, yet still tested positive. Or so they say.

I'm not saying don't take reasonable precautions, I'm simply saying we're all (or mostly all) are gonna eventually get it. That's my opinion, and I'm entitled to that. And you're entitled to yours. We live over 3,000 miles away from each other. It's gonna be OK.
Sorry ABM but you do not live over 3,000 miles from Oregon. Driving distance is 2,245 miles. As the crow flies it is even closer. I remember St. Louis as being roughly 2,000 miles from Portland.

I recall a situation like this when I was in middle school. Was my friend your friend? Or did you just implant a false memory in my head that didn't actually happen?
Everybody knows he's a key part of the deep state and has power.

Really. He has every right to holler like that if an unmasked person is close to him obviously trying to fuck with him. Last week in our neighborhood Starbucks, I'm at a corner table when some angry guy walked in without a mask. Barista respectfully asked them if they had a mask and if nit they had one for him. He started screaming and yelling something about his rights and Fuck Kate Brown or something! Right there in front of customers and kids! I let him get about 5 words out and stood up and yelled with my deepest angriest tone I've used in years at him! "NOT HERE! WE DO'T DO THAT HERE! GET THE HELL OUT! IF YOU NEED HELP I'M HERE FOR YOU!

Freaked him out. he turned and basically ran out of the store! It was hilarious. The baristas thanked me and so did a few customers. I scared the shit out of some other customers more than the guy yelling did, so I don't think they were too happy. Got a free coffee out of it!

I will not tolerate any bullshit, if I see it.

Will you now boycott Starbucks, since they don't require their employees to be vaccinated?
