Trump’s travel ban sidesteps his own European resorts
The president announced new travel restrictions on Europeans as the coronavirus pandemic escalated, but a few key spots on the continent were spared.

The Schengen Area (/ˈʃɛŋən/) is an area comprising 26 European states that have officially abolished all passport and all other types of border control at their mutual borders. The area mostly functions as a single jurisdiction for international travel purposes, with a common visa policy. The area is named after the 1985 Schengen Agreement signed in Schengen, Luxembourg.

This complaint is stupid. The ban only restricts Europeans, other than those from the U.K. and Ireland, from coming to the US. Those people might have actually stayed in one of the Trump properties in the US so that’s potentially harmful to his interests. The ban so far doesn’t impact Americans traveling to or from Europe or the U.K. so it has no impact on people who would stay in his or the competition’s hotels.

Per the WHO from about a week ago.

"Overall, China CDC found, 2.3% of confirmed cases died. But the fatality rate was 14.8% in people 80 or older, likely reflecting the presence of other diseases, a weaker immune system, or simply worse overall health. By contrast, the fatality rate was 1.3% in 50-somethings, 0.4% in 40-somethings, and 0.2% in people 10 to 39."

And he gets taxpayer funded health care.

So if the stock markets completely crash does inflation go through the roof?

We have 94,837 ICU beds in the United States. These beds have a normal occupancy rate of 65-80%. Also with the limited availability of coronavirus tests, patients are being seen in emergency rooms and not being tested. If they are finally tested emergency room personnel have already been exposed and have to be removed from patient care.

I know, old people, who needs them, they cost us money, yadda yadda. But, it would not take much to overwhelm our critical and frontline emergency medical personnel in this country. That means not having the beds and staff available to treat not only people with the coronavirus but the people who regularly occupy the 65-80% of the ICU beds.

Yes, so far the coronavirus is not as harmful to young people as it is to the olds. But that doesn't mean that it can't have a very serious and negative effect on our entire healthcare system.

Trump is going to get a lot of Americans needlessly killed with his response to this pandemic.

Exactly right. Make healthy choices, use common sense (which isn't that common anymore) and be respectful. Most people, this won't affect that greatly but by being careless and passing it around, it can get to the older population or those who have compromised immune systems. Too many of them can overwhelm the medical facilities where they need more accute care.

And for the love of all that is holy, if you are a smoker, if C-19, which primarily attacks the respiratory system and that is not enough to get you to stop smoking.....I don't know what will.

CDC admits they have only completed 70 coronavirus tests THIS WEEK - despite Trump promising MILLIONS more
  • In the last week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ran just 70 coronavirus tests in its labs
  • 54 tests were completed on March 5 and 16 tests were completed on March 6 - and no tests were run between March 7 and March 10
  • This is despite promises from the Trump administration that millions of test kits would be distributed by next week
  • In the US, there are more than 1,400 confirmed cases and 39 people have died
  • Coronavirus symptoms: what are they and should you see a doctor?

We.are.fucked.

Pelosi and House Dems trying to steal billions from Social Security Fund AGAIN.

Republicans are blocking Corona virus relief bill. They oppose paid leave. They added an anti abortion clause. This bill has absolutely nothing to do with abortion. Political grandstanding; they can say Democrats are putting abortion above nation's health, which is actually what they are doing.

Trump meets with CEOs but not doctors, nurses, low wage workers.

Who cares if a bunch of losers get sick? Big donors can pay for health care.

What about those 1.3%ers that have a compromised immune system? Like let's say they had cancer. Asking for a friend

This is a good general discussion of the math associated with a pandemic like this one:

It's worth hanging in with it until the end of the video.

Coronavirus bailout bill to give sick pay to sufferers is in disarray as Donald Trump says he objects to Nancy Pelosi's plans saying it's 'goodies they've been trying to get for 25 years' and Senate Republicans hold it up over abortion
