There were no insults or names calling. It was people trying to work shit out or moving on...

did you read the thread or all the posts? If not, you dont have much say. If you did, then you would have noticed that i and a few others were making the same point you just made. All the threads turn to shit shows because no one will listen and just points fingers aNd name calls if they don't agree with a posters opinion.

So i get zero point in your post.....

other than to add to the fingerprinting rather than trying to find a solution for a productive conversation, which was what yankee and i were moving towards when the thread was locked.

There were multiple flagged posts and PMs sent. Staff attention was being asked for by multiple people. I was not around, a staff member responded to a problem thread and took action.

I have not read all the posts in that thread but yes, there were some posts that were contributing to a healthy and normal discussion that were being drowned out by insulting, demeaning, and just shitty posts by others. It truly bothers me when that happens and I know that all of the staff tries to avoid closing threads.

I have not seen your post but instead of making multiple posts about how terrible the staff is here why not make a new thread and restate your post/opinion that you felt was contributing to healthy and informative debate.

I closed the the thread. I should have closed it before it began. I admit I had a part in getting it rolling. I shouldn't have. I was bored and had too much time on my hands. We all did.

We all got a chance to get our thoughts and opinions across. I didn't close it to get the last say, or because I thought one side was winning or losing or to be vindictive, or any of that. I closed it one, because it was becoming a shit show, a I know you are but what am I pissing contest.

Secondly, and most importantly I realized how it was becoming an obession for many of us. I hoped in locking it, we could go on to other more important things, like spending time with family as I did. With everything that is going on, do we really need to be going at each others throats.

I'm the monster for saying I'd use Crandc's cat to catch coyotes? I'd keep it alive for further use. Well, I would have but they carry the virus it seems..

I'll have to stick with using my little dog. I nees to be proactive and build the trap soon.

It depends on how hungry the coyotes are. They are super weary of traps or anything a human has touched for the most part. I work closely with a "predator management" team and have gone out in the field with them several times. Baited traps rarely work if the coyotes have plenty of available food. Now, coyotes do have a habit of running the same paths every day and rarely veer off their path, so a good old fashioned snare trap is usually the best way to go. Thus, kitty/puppy bait is probably not necessary. Haha

I don't need a trap. They run all over the empty lot by my shop. It was one of their last little areas to live in. Just need a gun. Had one run through the parking lot by himself last week.

They look pretty skinny though.
 
Find their tracks, follow those tracks to a choke point and set your snare there making sure not to leave much of a scent and disturbing the ground as little as possible. Brush leaves over your foot tracks.

I listened to them howl every night in the country. Never saw one that I can remember.

They run around Vegas eating the rabbits that are everywhere.

Not joking I think I'm more scared of this type of behavior than the virus... I am not in any way saying you're serious or that you would ever do anything like that.
I am saying gun sales have skyrocketed since the outbreak. Suicides have gone up. Often heard people are 3 meals away from anarchy and I believe it. I know everyone says oh if you're thinking about the economy right now you hate human rights, and you don't care about people's health. I see a country with 10m more unemployed people, small businesses in trouble, drug addiction, mental health issues that weren't being addressed before the virus started, and think if they don't figure out a way to get peoples lives sort of back to a "normal" state soon there will be a lot of dead people who never got the virus.
I know personally many people with families who lived pay-check to pay-check and now have no income other than a very meager amount from Unemployment, I have relatives who are already unable to get refills on medications that keep them alive. If this goes on too long there will be people who say my only way to eat and feed my family is to steal it. Yeah I put human life first, and it's more important than the economy, but the idea we can just shut everything down, and take ourselves into an economic depression and it won't cost a heck of a lot of lives is not realistic in my opinion.

I'm still waiting for a political leader somewhere to come out and say. Hey we were all caught sleeping at the wheel with this, but over the last few weeks we've come up with a plan, and some realistic milestones we'd like to hit, here's how long we "think" it will take to hit those and here's our plans to getting there. I know that won't come from our President, but at this point anyone even if it's just made up random crap, it would be nice to see someone displaying a little leadership and to sound like they have some ideas.

Agree with theprunetang, coyotes are very difficult to trap. But...

The best bait to attract coyotes is a dog, not a cat. Not just any dog, a bitch in heat will bring coyotes in from miles around.

Tie the bitch up where you have a good view all around her. Then set up with a good rifle and plenty of ammunition.
