Looks like donnie do little had ample notification to get things in order much sooner if he would actually listen to those in the know. This is why this clown is such a dangerous president as he thinks he has all the answers and doesn;t need to listen to anyone.

I'm not sure how I feel about this though. On one hand, I think states should have more authority to act in their best interest in general. So a president saying let states decide what's best for them I actually, "like" that approach. On the other hand, it was totally a political game where if a governor messes up (whatever that means) he can claim he wasn't responsible for it. So yes it was definitely politics and handing responsibility off, I think you're right.

Like I pointed out in my previous post, the feds should be coordinating the testing and supplies for the states. Otherwise you end up with a bunch of different results and states battling each other and other countries for supplies. I heard France was issuing masks to all citizens. Why hasn't our administration taken that step?

America is in the middle of a pandemic and governors have been begging Trump for federal aid on national tv, and are being told, by Trump, to do the job themselves. That is a bit different from what you are describing (Which I do agree with. But there is a time and place for states to "do their own thing", this clearly isn't the time.).

The federal government is required to aid states during national emergencies, states can't do it all by themselves. Trump himself declared Covid-19 such a national emergency, then proceeded to sidestep his job.

During states of emergency the president is suppose to step up and take charge of the situation, we Americans expect nothing less from our presidents (And we never should). Up until now, we had always gotten that from our presidents, whether you like them or not.

Trump is failing to take a leadership role on the biggest event to happen to the world in a century. This is Trump's big moment to show his leadership capabilities and he went absent on U.S. .

This is the problem I have with Trump's supposed strategy...on one hand he's citing outlines for reopening but at the same time allowing governors to make their own policy, who in turn are leaving things up to the people....you cannot leave it up to the people because more time than not, they will make an poorly calculated decision.

Don't get me wrong, I really hope it all works out for all of us on this planet, but to be honest, I not only don't have a "warm and fuzzy" feeling, I have a really bad feeling...of course, it could simply be gas.

Daughter is a physical therapist and they'e been open and busy and appointments are crazy now that other medical offices get to open Friday.

That sounds like trump as his response to most questions is maybe it will, maybe it won't. We will just have to see. He inspires such confidence
And if he pretends you know or even makes a suggestion , you also whine.

In 2019, with the backing of NIAID, the National Institutes of Health committed $3.7 million over six years for research that included some gain-of-function work. The program followed another $3.7 million, 5-year project for collecting and studying bat coronaviruses, which ended in 2019, bringing the total to $7.4 million.

Many scientists have criticized gain of function research, which involves manipulating viruses in the lab to explore their potential for infecting humans, because it creates a risk of starting a pandemic from accidental release.

SARS-CoV-2 , the virus now causing a global pandemic, is believed to have originated in bats. U.S. intelligence, after originally asserting that the coronavirus had occurred naturally, conceded last month that the pandemic may have originated in a leak from the Wuhan lab. (At this point most scientists say it's possible—but not likely—that the pandemic virus was engineered or manipulated.)

I was simply trying to have a discussion about the graph and link you posted and how it could be skewed based on percentages. Not by information, but by percentages of those being tested. I apologize if you are not able to have this conversation about something you posted.

Carry on.

Hahahaha

cool. Have a laugh on me! :)

i know who dropped out of the discussion and made it personal. :)

So im laughing too. We can laugh together!

That's rich...Hypocritical much?

...please, I didn't "drop out" of anything. Instead, I simply refused to engage any longer in a convo with someone who seems to have a never-ending reading comprehension disorder.
