Nope. Ashamed that through indifference and idiocy too many of us were complacent to allow a conman and his enables botch this. There is an awful lot of good in this country, even if there are enough idiots living in it - there are enough idiots everywhere, we were have not been so indifferent usually to let the idiots run the country as we did in 2016. If we repeat this mistake - I would certainly be ashamed of this - because I truly believe that most Americans are decent and smart and learn from their mistakes.

62 million people voted for this man in 2016. I'm guessing at least 50 million more will again in November. That is still an embarrassment no matter how you slice it.

We are not THAT far removed from Kennedy and Regan speaking about Berlin. Or Obama giving a speech in Hiroshima. WTF happened to that kind of credibility on an international stage? Why would anyone WANT to immigrate here? That makes me ashamed.

The fact that we had Obama before does not mean we did not have the idiots before. We had people that have always been morons before and we will have them going forward. What we should be ashamed of is that so many of us were indifferent or fell for the conman. Is it a travesty that we have so many idiots in the country? You bet, but the ideals that made the US great are still there, despite the many flaws we have in our society. What is happening with racism and gender equality and intolerance to people's personal sexual orientation is the real shame, not that fact that we let an idiot con his way and botch everything he touches as president - but despite the fact that there are so many idiots and that we have a con man president - the system in America at least allows us to talk about it and fight to have it fixed.

What is a shame is that the con-man is trying to bully it out of us as they do in the places where you can not speak about that.

I sure hope so. The election interference has me worried. And we have already seen that Trump has no low for how far he will stoop to win.
 
Also, I'm guessing his attacks on the protestors and media notwithstanding, the next target is the internet. What makes us different from China/Iran/Turkey then?

America has usually gone with force into other countries to remove dictators like Trump.

I have no doubt that he is already laying the ground-work for election interference. I have said it before and I will say it again - these people are literally the marketing department of the Sirius cybernetics corporation. I just hope we all survive their transgressions before they meet the consequences of their actions.

Talked to a friend today, said he just finished reading all Dickens' novels. When my mother died my father gave me her complete works of Shakespeare because he figured I was the only one who would actually read them. I have read some but not all. So that's my new Corona virus project, to read all Shakespeare's plays. Not sure about the sonnets.

Carlin was brilliant and that rant is one of his best. But I have to wonder how he’d feel about it being used as a one-sided political hit piece via that video overlay. Guess we’ll never know. Carlin had a pretty open distaste for BOTH of the major political ideologies. This was one of those parties invoking Carlin to smack the other. I don’t think whoever made this video was a fan of George Carlin, I think they just heard that clip and applied their own biases to it. I think any big Carlin fan could see how this misses the mark. It would be the same thing if it were the other way around and the video showed a bunch of Democrats or something. Carlin was NOT about picking political sides, he despised them both.

We get it, you hate Trump. Making up wild exaggerations like this doesn’t achieve anything. It just makes half the country continue to disagree with you because your fear mongering is beyond irrational. Also interesting you had to align your view with the Unites States’ horrendous past foreign policy decisions to draw your parallel against Trump.

Don’t worry @jonnyboy says we have nothing to worry about and the election will go fine and if trump loses he will just walk away.
