I usually tip well (now that I can afford to), but I really don’t like that most places make their staffs share the tips. I think tipping should serve as an incentive for each service person to provide good services, not as something that they feel entitled to. When playing at the tables, win or lose, I tip my dealers. But there’s been the few occasions when I did not want to tip at all due to the dealers being grumpy assholes. But not tipping the assholes means the rest are out of a tip too, so I’d end up tipping anyway. But I’d much rather tip for the individual than for the whole. Just be polite and helpful and you deserve a nice tip.

Tipping your way leaves the cooks and the bus boys out in the cold. Also, some of the wait staff gets to handle the best tables such as the ones with window views, while other wait staff get the more crappy tables.

We seem to have gotten to restaurants. You want to know which ones have great service? Go as a single lady.

Can't tell you how many times I got table up along kitchen when couples without reservations got better, waited forever for service, had food arrive cold, or server try to hustle me out without asking if I wanted dessert.

My Yelp review page tells women which places to avoid and which to go to.
