Trying to blame unvaccinated people for hospitals that aren’t even overwhelmed is just nonsense. And if it’s true that the flu has basically been eliminated, that’s is a whole fuck ton of people not sick with flu offsetting hospitalization numbers. I just don’t see the evidence for this.

You could only get away with this ridiculous shit in the larger cities. Doesn’t really affect me, although I would feel bad for the people in those cities who were under the impression they’re living in a free modern democratic society before being relegated to a lower segregated class.

I would say require a vaccination card or require a recent Covid test for everything (as in recent 72 hours, like they do for international travel). Make unvaccinated people pay for their own tests. Done and done. You want to move around society potentially endangering people - put your money where you mouth is.
 
In what has become a recurring theme, a Republican state legislator in Maine who is anti mask, anti vax, called Covid a hoax, is seriously sick with Covid. His wife is also sick although not as severely. I imagine they, like Johnny, called public health doctors stupid.

Health care workers finally thought they were getting a well earned reprieve. Vaccines approved and widely available, free. They didn't count on all these John Wayne Mimi mes, shouting I am invulnerable, I am above the laws of nature, no one can tell high and mighty me what I should do, I know more about infections diseases than stupid doctors.

Thinking you’re smarter than the thousands of doctors and scientists worldwide who came up with this is really something. What do you do for a living? I’m hoping it’s something really important.
 
I’ve shared on here before how many people I lost to this virus…….. I would never wish death on anybody ever, but I have a feeling some on here’s opinions and takes on this would be drastically different had they gone though the loss of loved ones. From the stuff I’m reading on here by some, there is NO way they would feel the way they do if they had.

I'm vaccinated and encourage people to do so.

I am against the draconian and fascist idea of vaccine passports for people to go outside and do basic things essential to survival.

This is interesting because aren’t you usually the one who wants drastic measures to deal with things whether it’s rioters or school shooters, it’s like “arrest them/kill them we don’t need humans like that”? Now I’m not saying anti vax are those types of people but “draconian measures” IS something you’ve supported in the past. Like, fuck these people, get your shit together or do XYZ to them”. If someone is against the vaccine - ok, but you go to the hospital with Covid and aren’t vaxxed no insurance for you. Or if you’re anti vax stay home and ride it out. And so on.

Give everybody incentive to do the smart thing. Reward the people who have already done so.

I'd much prefer that to forcing them.

And allowing people to run around harming others is not freedom. That's insanity. Nobody should be allowed to harm others, and that's exactly what refusing the vaccine is.

Unvaxxed persons are not destroying personal property or assaulting others.

Getting sick versus attacking someone are different beasts.

Its not the law to get vaccinated. Its against the law to riot or shoot someone.

One could say unvaxxed are doing as much harm. I mean, attacking or assaulting or getting someone sick with covid, I dunno but they seem pretty similar to me.

Its not illegal though. Unless they are purposefully infecting people with COVID, I don't see the parallels.
