This is the concern. Yes, people certainly died of causes other than covid-19 for lack of care in places like NY and LA which had huge outbreaks.

You have to take action before it gets to that point. If you wait until it's happening it's already too late.

Not if it was preventing them from looking into other more important things.

As of May 1, 2021, CDC transitioned from monitoring all reported vaccine breakthrough cases to focus on identifying and investigating only hospitalized or fatal cases due to any cause. This shift will help maximize the quality of the data collected on cases of greatest clinical and public health importance.

Previous data on all vaccine breakthrough cases reported to CDC from January–April 2021 are available.

The important thing is that vaccinated people are being protected from needing medical attention.
 
The Delta variant wasn't a problem here in May. Things change, and the CDC should be tracking non-hospital and fatal cases. Also, the reporting is voluntary with vaccinated individuals.

Asymptomatic breakthrough infections are not the only thing that the CDC doesn’t have real-time data on, Gottlieb also said that the agency doesn’t have the resources to properly track flu infections or flu deaths each year either.

“They actually derive it off a model,” Gottlieb said. “So the confidence interval is very wide.”

Gottlieb expects the CDC to improve its tracking of the delta variant in the coming months.

“They’ll come out with a very good analysis of this delta wave, who is getting infected and how probably in about four months, maybe a little longer than that,” he said.

There's really no way to do what you are asking for, because not everyone (vaccinated or not) gets tested.
I'm vaxxed, I could be infected right now, but no one will ever know unless I get tested, which I don't currently plan to do.
More data is always better, but I'm not sure this is super high priority - there are other ways to figure out whether your hunches are correct.

One way to get a sample size of break through cases are to pay attention to pro sports and the Olympics. They are pretty much all vaccinated and tested daily.

Honestly man, I don’t think I’ll ever get it. Not voluntarily anyway. The whole amp up, rollout and the way politicians, the media and corporations are goading is just too off-putting to me. It’s literally the entities I despise most in this world that are most actively telling me I need to do it. The more intense measures we’re starting to see are only solidifying my aversion to it. That’s just me being honest with no snark.

Recap: It’s exhausting. Some people want reasons and facts about why to vaccinate but pages 1-978 didn’t accomplish that so we are unearthing any and all intel to help. One poster just doesn’t like to be told what to do by big bad corporations or authority figures so that is his issue. Another poster is just bringing to light all the reasons people don’t want the vaccine yet he is vaccinated so I’m not sure what is the issue there, he’s just speaking up for the downtrodden I guess. Some of us are trying to remain patient but it’s failing and we are at the point of just “everyone shut the fuck up and take the needle”, so this should end poorly.
 
Recap. The stupid decisions of the ignorant and irresponsible will cause needless mass deaths and huge restrictions on freedom.

They will force mandatory vaccinations and the rest of us will grudgingly accept it because we'll have no choice other than allowing even more to die over an even longer period of reduced freedom and turmoil.

So yeah, yippee ki yay mother fucker.
 
My brother refuses to get the vaccine. I've tried to convince him otherwise, but to no avail. Oh well. I don't think we should force people to get vaccinated though. Their body their choice in my opinion. I also think we should fully open everything up again. If they die they die.

That's not good enough - because on their way to die they might cause others to die, like someone that can not get unvaccinated (like children under 12 at this point).

We should allow businesses to refuse service to people that are unwilling to do their part to protect others by vaccination and require them to wear masks when in public.

The their body their choice option is not a problem as long as they are not hurting others. Otherwise, we can apply the same logic to pulling the trigger on the gun "their body, their choice, what kills is the bullet, not the finger squeeze" (which is the NRA's entire stupid argument while arguing against background checks, but we digress).
 
We put teachers ahead of the most vulnerable group, seniors and some refused to take it and still do. I believe if we require kids k-12 to wear mask than every teacher needs to be vaccinated. Im also for anyone coming across our border or is released from a center be vaccinated. If I want to go over seas Im required to get vaccinated I believe?

I never thought you despised me that much....I don't think of myself as an entity but.....still...go get your shot...you're confusing world health with political bullshit....political bullshit is not why you need the shot...common sense denial early on in the pandemic is why you need the shot
 
I’m completely fine with people choosing their own death. The problem however is it effects EVERYONE when massive amounts are sick. ICUs, schools, work, airplanes, which I’ve already posted ad nauseam. We would like to move on with life but can’t because there is so much Covid going around making people feel like shit and ending up in the hospital. So it’s not all about “well it’s their choice who cares”. It’s “it’s their choice and they are impacting everyone”.

I have no problem with businesses refusing service to people that aren't vaccinated. I still think we should open everything up though.

Open everything up, require proof of vaccination or face masks in public with proper consequences for not adhering to this requirement. It is one thing to say open everything - and another not to ensure that the public, at large, is safe because of idiots requiring "freedom" to hurt others.

Just thought I would share here since I live in Florida and there has been a lot of DeathSentence talk here:

My girlfriend, who I live with in Tallahassee has just been diagnosed with covid19. We both got our vaccines in April. I am getting a test tomorrow, but so far I feel alright. I'm not sure what to make of this info yet, as we literally just found out an hour ago. She has been in bed with flu type symptoms since Monday. Pretty shitty, but it is what it is.
