Just thought I would share here since I live in Florida and there has been a lot of DeathSentence talk here:

My girlfriend, who I live with in Tallahassee has just been diagnosed with covid19. We both got our vaccines in April. I am getting a test tomorrow, but so far I feel alright. I'm not sure what to make of this info yet, as we literally just found out an hour ago. She has been in bed with flu type symptoms since Monday. Pretty shitty, but it is what it is.

Hope she feels better soon and that you do not get it.

Had flu like symptoms last week, was actually feeling rather lousy for a couple of nights, but Covid test came negative which is good. Did she get a proper PCR test or one of them quick tests? Because the quick ones can have more false positive results.

Hope she starts to feel better soon and you avoid any symptoms. Glad you got vaccinated. My 9 and 12 year olds were positive last week.

I really hope she'll be ok and you as well....go west young man! Get out of there!

It was a rapid test. The result didn't surprise me though. She really has been in bed feeling quite terrible for a couple of days. I called in to work this week to stay here and take care of her and to make sure I'm not spreading it to my family in Panama City (who I stay with on work days, since I live in Tallahassee and work on the coast). Her highest fever has only been 100.9, so it is still on the mild side, but the covid diagnosis makes a LOT of sense given her symptoms. I'm actually not feeling 100% myself, but could just be psyching myself out. Guess I'll find out tomorrow

Regardless, wether I test positive or not, I will be quarantined here at home and will take care of my sick future wife until she is better. That will always be the priority over work.

Open everything up, require proof of vaccination or face masks in public with proper consequences for not adhering to this requirement. It is one thing to say open everything - and another not to ensure that the public, at large, is safe because of idiots requiring "freedom" to hurt others.

Let the businesses decide for themselves.

I'm sorry to hear that, man. I hope you both are as symptomless as possible and recover quick!

Good luck. If she is vaccinated evidence is she would only have light symptoms but should probably quarantine. Keep us posted.

What is up with the WHO calling for a moratorium on booster shots and the CDC rejecting it? Who is more trustworthy at this point lol

We both got the Pfizer vaccine as soon as they were offered. So far it has been like a mild flu for her. Hoping it stays that way. I really do love this human.

I'm good with this.

I believe both want to tackle the unvaccinated first before booster shots.

Fwiw, heard from people we do business with in Israel that they are starting booster shots already.

Yes. He’s a type 1 diabetic too, so after speaking with his doctors, they were unanimous in their recommendation to be vaxxed. He’s been fine. Made his numbers go high a bit having Covid but no other symptoms

My 13-year old is asthmatic, so she was vax'd ASAP. She was down for a day after the vax, but she otherwise was fine. We felt it necessary (and would vax our 10-year old if we could).

The one thing I was and am most anxious about is that viruses can trigger diabetes. With one already diabetic, we were worried that Covid could cause him to develop diabetes since it’s in our family. He and his brother who is diabetic are both celiac, so they have similar traits. Lotta fun over here.

I'm sorry. I think the most stressful part of this entire pandemic (for me personally) has been wanting to ensure the safety of my children and my parents.

Having asthma and the potential for the impact Covid can have on your lungs…..very happy you got her vaccinated. Think with my kids situation that’s why I’m pretty passionate about all this. How someone can willingly not accept something that prevents illness is nuts to me. It’s all I think about. I’d cut my legs off to take away his diabetes

What are we arguing about here? Can someone catch me up?

The vaccines don't actually confer immunity (prevent transmission) but simply reduce severity. Vaxxed people are testing postive left and right despite claims breakthrough cases are rare. People are using logic based around traditional vaccines to say everyone should be vaccinated or segregated. Unvaxxed and people researching are pointing out the faulty logic, with very recent science from the CDC and Fauci in fact, only to be ostracized based on a false premise.

I wouldn't give up my legs, but I'd give an arm. She's a very strong swimmer, much more so than I've ever been. I wouldn't beat her in a race, but I'd at least be able to swim circles around her.

Same. I have a 10 yr. old and a 6 yr. old, and would get them vaccinated if recommended/allowed. A few weeks back when we went to Yellowstone, my 10 yr. old wasn't feeling well and we had to cut our trip short. I didn't get her tested but I've been wondering if she had Covid.
I have a 12,13, and 14 year old (oldest turning 15 next week).

All fully vaccinated. All were vaccinated as soon as it was available. Let's get this over with.

My mother inlaws assisted living center just got put on lock down because a positive test.

Arkansas has gone from 100 new hospitalizations per day to 2800, about a fifth under 18. They are shipping patients to Colorado.

Saw an interview with a woman in a hospital with Covid, she was behind plexiglass. She said she hadn't gotten vaccine because she figured she would be all right. She has hypertension and diabetes FFS.

Weird how mainstream science is saying the vaccine lessens the symptoms, which is great, but doesn’t actually prevent transmission. You must have missed that part when you were busy screaming at people calling them “carriers”.
Not preventing transmission does not mean that transmissions are not being attenuated.

About 2-5% of all cases have been vaccinated people. I posted the graphic earlier.

The CDC and Dr. Fauci now say the percent of cases from the vaccinated is less than 0.001%.
Belay that, it's 0.01 %.
