Could Elliott Williams play a tad this year?

hes an nba player when healthy

if he ever gets healthy he should have a place somewhere, will basically be starting his career at 24 years old though

He has NBA-level offensive talent, but almost every Pritchard pick was an injury risk. Draft them with past injuries, then let it bake for years.

Anthony Tolliver IS very good. Your point?

Everyone in the NBA is very good relatively speaking. Compared to people not in the NBA he is incredible. Compared to other players currently in the NBA he isn't in the top 2/3rds though.

McMillan dumped Tolliver after a 10-day tryout because of defense. Other NBA coaches aren't as picky. He probably would have cut Hickson, too.

I got the impression, watching EWill last year, that he was a total gunner. I have to say, since he played some PG in college, that he was kind of a disappointment. Claver is better (if a good deal less exciting).

Why compare the two? They dont play the same position. Williams is a strict 2, claver is a 3/stretch 4

Great sample to choose from: 149 minutes played in the NBA. That's totally laughable.

We had already established he only played 149 minutes or whatever. Just saying that in those very few minutes his on court production has been better than Matthews.

There is no freaking way E-Will plays this year! Way too soon! I want him back for next season though.

If he does try to rush back and play he's an idiot and so are the Blazers. BRoy dumbed down version 2.0.

Stupid decision to come back for remaining part of this season. Just keep rehabbing and come back ready to play in October.

I think we'll keep him for itty bitty contract. He could (if healthy) pass up Matthews at SG.

I have always been excited about E Will. Unfortunately, he has let me down more than Oden. I can't believe we actually still have a player that was injured more than Oden. It is freaken crazy!

He's not more injured than Oden. The first season he missed wasn't necessarily injury as much as fixing an issue.

His first injury (the shoulder) was kind of a freak injury, as was his ACL.

He's been injured a lot, but let's not act like 3 MF's and a completely shattered patella are the same as a dislocated shoulder and torn ACL.

You should look at minutes played comparison between Oden and E Will for their first 5 years. You will be amazed on how many more minutes Oden has played than E Will. I don't care how it came to be. It just is what it is.

The only difference I see is that Oden's third MF could be at least partially blamed on his drinking his way through his rehab on his shattered patella.

Only potential positive for Ewill is at least he's injuring or fixing different areas of the body, Oden's were all knee and really bad, and IMO that's worse long term. Gotta be depressed with both however IMO. Be interesting if Blazers give him another shot, I think they'd like to but it would have to be a MUY el cheapo contract, maybe somesone else will offer more than we want to gamble on?

well, they went in for a scoping, not because he had knee issues similar to Elliotts.
So were Oden's.

Well, technically, going up for a dunk during practice and landing wrong is more of a freak accident than the injury that was probably due to the mishandling of his original rehabbing.

I would've rather had Oden have a separated/dislocated shoulder and a torn ACL than 3 MF's and a shattered patella.

Notice that it's not like Williams injuries have been all the same body part...

I actually think they should. I bet he would take 1.0-1.3 mil per for 3 years; with the 3rd being a "player option".

Realistically, it's not a bad gamble. We would be spending that on a bench player that isn't seeing much burn anyway. If he actually looks as though he can play; then the third year can be renegotiated.

with his history for me it's gotta be like what HOU offers for some guys they sign from Dleague, 3 yrs with yrs 2&3 being team options, or at least a 2 yr with yr 2 being a TO
