Y! Sports has learned NYK has now offered Gallo, Felton, Chandler, Curry and a to be acquired 1st rounder to DEN for Melo, Billups & fillers

Marc Spears

Sounds like the Blazer pick

Speights rumor seems to be dead. Favors will be a bust IMO.

Our smelly GM needs to pull the damn trigger on a deal. We need size and something better than a lineup of Joel, Marks, Babbitt, Rudy and Patty on the floor. Yes, by the way, that was a line up a few games ago

I think the only thing Cho will give the fans are excuses of why he couldn't make a trade.

I don't want to make a deal just to make a deal. Yea we have a crappy bench but its not like our bench players are magically gonna net us good bench players. Hell there are so MANY expiring contracts this year that our expiring contracts aren't worth what they would have been last year or the year before that.

Why not? In the expert analysis of fans who have scout friends, any deal is a good deal. Just make a deal. If all the possible deals are awful, flip a coin to choose between them, man up and make a deal.

That's what smart GMs do.

I think I can word it this way and not get in trouble

Deleted. I have never said make a deal just to make a deal, and when did it become a bad thing to have friends that work in the NBA in some way?

In my opinion, you are a fucking idiot.

We'll agree to disagree on that.

I have never said make a deal just to make a dea

When you say "Our smelly GM needs to pull the damn trigger on a deal" without any discussion on the quality of said deal or what the form of that deal that he "needs" to make should be, it's pretty obvious. Clearly, I phrased it differently than you did in order show the silliness in your constant, unreasoned agitations, but I don't think I misrepresented you. You (and some other people) constantly demand "trades" with very little knowledge of what trades are actually available.

It's your right to argue with an absence of information. It's my right to note that that's silly.

KP would have got him here for a case of PBR and a pic of BeerBoy's wife!

KP was certainly not known for making impact trades at the deadline. Camby was nice, but tere were many years that went by that we sat on our hands and did nothing.

Adding Camby and Roy will improve our bench more than any trade available. We had a similar situation last season. We got Camby at the deadline and Roy came back (although he hadn't been out as long) from injury after the all-star break and the team won 18 of their last 25 games. When we get those two back, suddenly our bench doesn't look so bad. Roy may not be the Roy of old, but he should still make a very good 6th man (better than anyone we have coming off the bench now), and Camby helps address our lack of size/rebounding.

I'm not saying we shouldn't make a deal, but I don't think we "need" to make one and I would not make a trade that hurts our team short term unless we get a known quantity (proven young to mid-career player that addresses a need) in return. I'm not interested in "potential" or "upside". All young players have that, but few live up to it. I don't want some guy who has kicked around the league for three or four years and failed to make any kind of impact or shown steady improvement - especially if he has a reputation as a head case or uncoachable malcontent.

I prefer winning over losing. I'd rather be old and good than young and shitty. There is no need to panic. We're on pace to win 50 games, and we've gotten there without Oden, without Roy and without Camby (recently). Even with our lack of depth and shitty bench, this team has been 11 games over 0.500 since Roy went down (10 - 13 at the time, 32 - 24 now) and 7 games over 0.500 (20 - 19 then, 32 - 24 now) in the month since Camby went down. This team has shown remarkable improvement, is currently the 5th seed in the West, and getting Roy and Camby back will help them make a solid stretch run. To me, getting those two back now, and Oden back next season/after the lockout, helps this team more than most trades they could realistically make.

BNM

agreed with everything you said BNM except that Roy should make very good 6th man. Given the questions about his physical state, I don't think we can assume much of anything about his ability to contribute. Dude might be good as a 6th man, he might not be able to keep up at all, & he might suffer another setback and be shelved again.

I'm glad Rudy is still on board and playing as well as he has
