Wow.... three or four years ago I would have been all over it, but now...... I don't know.

Honestly, I probably would give him a shot. Bring him in, let him compete against our hungry young guys, and see what he does. At best, he's an All-Star caliber big. At worst, he's a bust and you cut him. I'm not opposed to that kind of low risk, high reward move.

Wow. Portland would likely be the perfect team for him, but I wonder how that would work out. Not enough minutes for the existing bigs as it is.

I wonder how much he would make? He was making 9M/year. Who else could sign him?

This is a move that wouldn't surprise me and would be worth a risk...Olshey has targeted these types in the offseason..very Greg Monroe type player..cmeese would go crazy if we landed him

If you bring him in, a trade needs to be made.

The Blazers are going to be at the top of every free agent, trade rumor all season..we have lots of money

no thanks. And space doesn't matter. He'll be on a minimum deal.

...only if he gets the mental help he needs AND proves himself on the court -- battling severe anxiety AND depression is no joke!

I'd most certainly pass. We aren't looking at contending so the upside of him putting everything together here doesn't really push us closer to our goal. This year is about finding long term pieces to build along with Lillard. Sanders doesn't help with building long term pieces here; at worst it could be a major headache for developing the rest of our team.

He should go to a team where he can be a backup and help fight for the playoffs. Even the Lakers or Knicks would be better than us because they have aging stars that want to win now.

If he has a great year we could look at him in free agency depending on how the rest of our team is being built.

How is it that you argue in favor of Henderson potentially being a long-term piece, but in opposition to Sanders?

I find this notion of Sanders being old funny. He's 1.5yrs older than Dame and Plums.

Not really aging in any sense of the word.

He just says Texas, not HOU specifically. Some are saying the Mavs have the interest in him but they aren't the reason he was in Texas from what I gather.

Supposedly he posted a picture of his plane ticket and it said Houston. :dunno:

Honestly, I would much rather see him in Dallas. I fucking hate Houston.

My guess is the Lakers are the WC team interested in Sanders.

The Lakers’ experiment with undrafted Larry Sanders -2.0 (Robert Upshaw) is not going very well. They are going for the original nut case (Sanders) and will have a backup nut case (Upshaw) in development.

The Lakers will be keeping quit a few psychiatrists in business.

Don't forget they had to bring Ron Artest out of retirement too.

I think the Rockets should pick him up because their last attempt at working with someone like this, Royce White, turned out SO well....

Fear of flying and an addictive flake are two very different things, IMO.

Royce's issues went far beyond a fear of flying. The dude was a nutjob.

I guess I remember more of Sanders than White... I mean, I know White flat out refused to fly, and it's weird since you fly EVERYWHERE as a pro athelete. IIRC, he got therapy for it, and if so, I commend him for it. Did Sanders? I hope, and maybe I can look that up.
