The Bulls are looking to sign Ben Gordon and clear cap space. Everyone has been looking at Nocioni but if you think about the Bulls also have Kirk Hinrich who plays the same position as #1 overall pick Derrick Rose. They might be amiable to moving him, especially after he had a lackluster season last year. So I am thinking that we could trade KVH + Swift + Ager + GS #1 pick + Cash for him. Then turn around and trade Hinrich + SWAT + 2nd round pick in a S&T for Josh Smith. I know ATL did something similar with Sheed and the whole Detroit thing. Feel free to poke holes in this, was just a random thought.

if we trade for kirk we can turn around and retrade him with another player... we need to wait a certain amount of days...

Oh okay so ATL did wait sometime I guess. I couldn't remember but I thought they gave him to the Pistons really quick. I'll take your word on it though.

No we could trade him right away like the Atlanta/Detroit Rasheed Wallace deal a couple years back, the problem is, however, that Hinrich would have to be traded by himself without any other players added.

i thought u cant trade it rite away with another player? it has to be by himself? rite? like simmons? we cant package him... just trade him 1 for 1

Anybody think this is a fair trade? And if we can't package anything with Hinrich would ATL take him back in a straight up swap for Josh Smith? It would certainly be a better solution to their point guard problems then the shot happy, defenseless Bibby was last season.

Yeah thats what I said, just like Simmons they cant be accompanied with any other outgoing players in a trade. Not necessarily 1 for 1, we can take multiple players and/or picks back assuming the other team isn't in the same situation.

That's what I was thinking. I think it would be more likely be a three team trade in this situation as opposed to two separate deals.

I really doubt anything like that happens

why wouldnt Atlanta just pay Josh Smith? Whos asking for the same as Hinrich is making, but is twice as good

But just for fun

Chicago gets Stro, KVH, and Boone(cash to buy out KVH)
Atlanta gets Hinrich, Sean, future 2nd and GS pick
NJ gets Josh Smith signed at 6 years 65 million and Ced Simmons

Because they've had ownership problems for years and aren't prone to shelling out big contracts..

I thought there were talks that he didn't want to go back there because of the coach?

And I'm sure he can't be too happy about Childress leaving.

Hinrich has 4 years left at 10+ mil per.

Smith is asking for 11-12 a year.

they might have problems, but theyre not Isiah........

I wish they would do such a deal though, I hope im wrong

Im not neccesarilly saying they would go for this trade and take Hinrich's money, Im just sayin Im sure theyre hesitant about paying Smith what the money he expects to get..

I heard rather than take the deal(s) theyve been offering him, hed rather play one year for the QO and then become unrestricted next year

If he sticks to that, maybe we do have a shot. Maybe Atlanta is afraid of losing him and makes a deal. But Im not getting my hopes up bc all these guys seem to re-sign.

Also, Krstic was a chip we could of used. w/o him I dont know how realistic any deal is

Gotcha. So maybe if were willing to give up picks + Sean and/or Boone we could at least make it interesting.

But it sounds like RodKi tried w/ Krstic + others and have since given up

Yeah I heard people discredit those reports about the coaching situation being the problem. The reason he would take a QO is because, with Memphis as the only team with cap space, there is no market out there for him right now for the type of deal he wants. Atlanta must be lowballing him in regards to the type of money he is looking for (which goes along with what I was saying about their ownership being reluctant to pay up)..

Sean, Boone and picks would be a start, and a contract like Swifts, KVH or Hassell could possibly be used to get them the cap relief they are looking for (obviously if theyre not going to sign him it is because they arent willing to spend the money, so they will be looking to save some money due to the ownership trouble they have there). If he takes a QO they know theyll likely lose him in the free agent market next year as an unrestricted free agent, so they may be looking to get all they can for him while they can.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>question Atlanta have mike bibby, why would they want hinrich</div>

word is hes a better SG

Rose, Gordon, Hinrich

someone has to go, and its not Rose

honestly id take gordon... i love his game... but is a liability on the defensive end

Gordon next to Harris would give us a size disadvantage on a nightly basis with Gordon being just 6'2" as a shooting guard while Harris is only an inch taller at 6'3"..I have always liked Gordon's game though, I just don't think he's worth anywhere near what he's asking.

Reports are he's looking to make as much or more as Deng got in his contract- I believe Deng's is 6 years and $71 million

LOL... well hes just tryin to get paid... we would all do the same

Yeah but he's not worth that much and if he can get that kinda money good for him but I dont want it coming from our payroll haha

Forget smith thats a pipe dream

Why would atlanta trade a star player for cap space and garbage,

but....

Here is what i woud do: Trade KVH, Swift the stiff, Haskell, Agar, #1 pick for Marcus, and 500K for buyout of kvh, for

Nocioni and Hinrich.

Then we would have one of the best benches in the league.
Solve the 3 pt guard option, and extra shooting guard, and have great defense with Nicioni playing etiher the 3 or 4.

what do you think

Too much long term salary to add.
