If Alaskans will vote for a convicted felon, they'll vote for her no matter what turns up. I won't be surprised if she ends up getting Stevens' senate seat and serves for 40 years.

That's the way I feel, too. She's a very nice lady who rose quickly in her state (and, good for her), but was thrown to the wolves (national media). I was just as surprised when she accepted the 'assignment'.

except reports are that she actively campaigned for the spot well before the selection. yeah mccain screwed up by not vetting her, but she's not exactly blameless in getting in over her head.
