I'm working courtside, there should be some good interviews from today.

Looks good so far! Joel might play opening night. He seems to know himself better than G.O. does.

It's been a weird media day this year.

Greg looking like he'll be out for a while.

Rudy being Rudy.

Nice!

Joel had a much worse injury than Oden. What's going on with Greg? Why the wishy-washy uncertainty with his rehab?

The announcers basically said, the doctors told greg his injury is healed. The announcers suggested maybe his muscles might not be up to where they need to be for him to play. But I think it's a lot of psychological.

rudy just said, his heart isn't in this. and then apologized that this is the case.

Physiologically, if Oden is "normal", there should be a generally accepted time of rehab for this injury within the medical community. Fractures heal and muscles rebound within a predictable window. That he seems puzzled whether or not he'll be back by XMas is a bit concerning, isn't it?

Actually, somebody asked him if his heart wasn't in it and he agreed. But he didn't come up with the words in the first place (important, given his still-imperfect English).

But yes, it's pretty much full-on "please release me, I don't want to play anywhere in the NBA".
As Mike Rice says, this is no doubt orchestrated by his Agent, particularly given how willing he was to play in NY or Chicago earlier in the Summer.

"Blazer bashers"

I have a sneaking suspicion that Rice reads this board often.

so this team is exactly where they were last april minus a hobbled roy....

lol yep. i like wes but i wonder are we better then we were a year ago? no oden, pryz, webster or rudy

is that better? me thinks no

I'm just mostly concerned about Oden. No timetable except he's likely out for the opener? Seems odd to me to announce that a month before the game.

Last year around this time, it was said that Joel and Greg were gonna have break...out seasons. :(

the blazers want to soften the blow. this way by knowing he's out for the opener will mentally keeps fans expectations down.

listening to roy... he kept saying our goal is to have greg ready for april. that sounds like his timetable if im being honest.

ABM...last year around this time we were the darlings of the nba, then we heard a pop and it was odens knee and rudys vagina.... ever since then... nothings changed except we arent the darlinsg anymore

Well of course you think that. Duh.

What do you consider "darling of the nba"?

thunder.

2008 - Hornets (crashed and burned in 2009)

2009 - Blazers (?) im leaning torwards 7th seed if oden is out through all star break

2010 - Thunder ????

The schedule comes out tomorrow and I'm sure the Courtside crew will have seen it before the show tonight. Maybe they'll give up some info.

About the whole starter thing, Roy at the moment is probably more mentally fragile than Wes. Maybe that's why Nate is mentioning the whole starter thing when talking about him.
