They will TRY to replace me with somebody from LA. HA! Funny thing is, in a market like that, this late, they will get somebody who works entertainment like Jeopardy or American Idol and not LIVE sports. Will be watching hoping to see as many mistakes on the broadcast as we will see on the court ! HA!
 
Thanks for the kind words guys. Just got home from another round of tests at the practice facility. I’m officially what they call a staff member under contract tracing protocol. Just learned that this morning. If the game was at home today, I’d be working. Saw this today. They said my daughters levels were mid 30s and wasn’t’ contagious at the moment of her first test Wednesday. So she either had JUST got it, or was just finishing. This shit is all so weird. Hope you guys and your FAMS are safe out there.

hiding the play on court might be a good move for spectators! Last game cracked me up when the radio crew excitedly said.."And just like that they got it back within 20!"

Curious what everyone's booster status was?

Easy to say after the fact, but not surprised at this.

With everyone vaccinated and probably not showing symptoms, guessing no tests beforehand. If there were tests, they likely were not going to detect lower levels. With that, more than likely it was an entire family household putting COVID-19 in the air and not a single person.

Masks help, but that air has to go somewhere. If the house was not ventilated, With time, it eventually spreads to everyone. The mask only increases the time you can likely spend around someone infected before exposure.

Contaminated air does not care if you are eating or not. With 20 people, the six feet recommendation would be pretty tough to adhere to.

On the plus side, it sounds like you atleast tried. Guessing many families were not masking and are going to be in worse shape for it. With masks and vaccines, you limited the amount spread. The odds of hospitalization are significantly lower for everyone.

Our phones are ringing off the hook with people needing tests or vaccines. Wished we had the ability to give both 24/7.

Ya, hearing that other coworkers of mine had family together and DIDN'T wear mask and nobody got sick. Everyone with us wore masks. So many variables. Really wishing we would have not gotten together now obviously. Prided ourselves on always making the right decisions.... until this.

I always wear a mask when I'm around your wife. Not for medical reasons, it's just a game we play.

Masks helped limited the spread. If someone had been infected at one of your coworkers, it probably would have resulted in more people getting it with worse symptoms.

I would not beat yourself up to much. It was not being super careless, like going to a party full of unmasked and unvaccinated people breathing heavily on each other.
 
Covid spreads like tobacco smoke.....imagine infected people as smokers breathing smoke out.....ever walk somewhere and smell tobacco smoke? That's how you get covid....and if you go into a building with people smoking....you're chances are pretty high that you'll breathe it in as well. Difference with covid is you can't smell it and that's a huge difference

mrs. HCP told me she doesn’t have that same level of “pride” about her “decisions”, FAMS.

You weren't going to avoid this one completely anyway. Don't feel bad about it. You did better than most experts recommended.

I think I speak for everyone here that we are VERY happy Mrs HCP continues to test negative. Also that she doesn’t have COVID


In all seriousness, I’m glad it seems to be going well . My entire family has it. All vaxed, 3 of us boosted. No fun at all

Wife and I came back negative again from yesterdays test. Our daughter was negative as well. So that is good. Still no symptoms. So they must have been right that she must have been at the very tail end of it when she got tested. This whole things is crazy.
If it weren’t for some post holiday precaution, and my wife and daughter didn’t go in for tests, we wouldn’t have gone through any of this. I hope they get a handle on all this and we can some day go back to “normal”, whatever that means. Thanks for chatting with me about this. Learned a lot from this experience.

I honestly don’t know? They swabbed me and an hour later said I was positive? I’ve been vaxed and boosted, so I assume omicron? I’ll re-read the email they sent and see if I missed something
 
I’m surprised I haven’t gotten it.

But then again I’ve been in complete quarantine self isolation since April 2019.

Haven’t even been within 10 ft of anyone.

I even wear a hazmat suit and spray my groceries down with disinfectant as soon as they’re delivered to my doorstep.
