Yeah, but watching someone play a game or two is not a good sample size of a player. The blazers don't play themselves...so there's that

oh stop...you just like baiting sometimes JFizz....fans watch players on youtube whenever they are in any way rumored to become blazers...I watched a lot of film on Turner when we made the offer to him...he's better than Crabbe IMO....but you don't value my opinion so that's not my problem..are you some kind of expert NBA talent scout with a backstage pass or something?Yeah, but watching someone play a game or two is not a good sample size of a player.
Letting Crabbe walk could also indicate that they think Montero will get his bench time....I think Montero's upside is better than Crabbe's if he gets a shot
Not at all. I just get annoyed of the mega homers. At the end of the day, you and i just think differently and thats ok. Im an analytics guys as im an accountant. Youre more a creative type. I hope so...I really like Montero's skills...I suspect Stotts will add him to the bench mob if Crabbe signs elsewhereMontero has more natural skills to be sure but can he break out of that 'raw' level where he currently resides? His shot, handle and passing ability are on par with Crabbe or significantly better but he's yet to get the experience to see if he can put those skills to use in a meaningful NBA game.

I like AC, but he does very little outside of shooting and scoring. He might become a consistent 15-18 ppg scorer eventually, but he needs that shot created for him as his handle is suspect. 77% of his 2pt makes last season were assisted. 96% of his 3pt makes were assisted. His defense has improved but he still fouls too much and reaches when he shouldn't. He's not a true 3 and D guy. And his versatility is also overstated-- he's a SG, with prototypical SG size, but not the strength or length to switch onto bigger SFs like Kawhi, Lebron, KD, etc. And he lacks the quickness to guard PGs. If you recall, we didn't put Crabbe on CP in the playoffs -- we put Hark on him.
I would hate to lose an asset for nothing in return given how much we desperately need talent, but if there are better C options that open up in a S&T, we shouldn't hesitate to move on.

Btw, the only baiting i enjoy doing is of the masturbatory type.
Who is "we?" Some of you i remember liking him when he was drafted. Some even compared him to brandon roy. I have no problem if you like him.Again, it's not like we just started talking about Turner this week. It has been an on and off discussion since he was drafted. You act like we only like him now, because we got him.
LOL, that statement would basically apply to everybody. We're all Blazer fans, whether we love to crunch numbers and compare stats or just enjoy watching the games and rooting for OUR guys. (Well, at least most of us are. There are a few who post here who make you wonder.) That said, I think that it would take some of the tension between the "mega homers" and the "analytical realists" down a notch if Denny would add a feature to the board so that every replay began with something like, "I know I may be overstating my case since I don't really know as much as I like to let on, but here's what I'm thinking:".
A Crabbe walk would be kind of a sideways move, wouldn't it?

I dont know more than the next guy im sure, but ive been obsessed with basketball since i could read box scores (age of 3) and since ive watched basketball every year of my life since then, ive formed my opinions just like everyone else. So of course i think others will be wrong, and others will think im wrong. This is a forum for chrissakes.
Clap. Clap. Clap.
Roy was a bad defender, who got really bad his last couple years, probably due to energy conservation and mobility loss. There's a reason people liken him to Roy. I don't think he's at all the all-star level player Roy was, but he fills up the score sheet in a similar manner.
Roy per 36 career:

Turner per 36 career:

Rebounds, assists, steals roughly the same. FG% and 3pt% and FGA advantage Roy.
Turner is 6'7" 220lbs
Roy was 6'6" 216lbs
On defense, FWIW, Roy's career DRtg is 110, best was 109. Turner's career 105, best 99.

Its a joke.....
I think Pat is the one who takes Crabbe spot. Pat has the potential to bring more to the table.Letting Crabbe walk could also indicate that they think Montero will get his bench time....I think Montero's upside is better than Crabbe's if he gets a shot
....
I can't help myself......I'll just drop this here........A Crabbe walk would be kind of a sideways move, wouldn't it?
