I am referring only to the relatively tiny group of looters, not the millions of people who didn't riot, but it's absurd to pretend this isn't a "black" thing. In America, white folks just don't riot anymore. Bring back the draft and you'll see white kids out there throwing rocks and tipping cop cars like in the 60's, but looting was never a part of the "white" riot. Today's San Francisco Chronicle confirmed what was already reported. A number of individuals were charged and more than half were from out of area, about a quarter out of state.

jkprk's sexism (which is somehow progressive?) does not explain what is progressive about some people damaging buildings, whose owners/renters had nothing to do with the murder of Oscar Grant or the trial of Johannes Meserle, in someone else's city. How does that help bring justice to Grant, or aid the fight against police brutality or racial profiling? How does it help the safety of African-American family men (like Grant) or working people (again like Grant, who had a good job) in Oakland? Improve public transportation? All jlpirk can say is women talking about politics is inherently right wing.
