When i was a rideshare driver in Eugene, the biggest concerns most students had were, the Environment, student loan debt, & affordable housing. Young women seemed to be more worried about the future of humanity, than their male counterparts, who quite frankly were more worried about partying and booty calls.

I'm just curious if there's a political lean to either Oregon University.

OSU used to have a reputation of being Right leaning but I found that to be untrue. When I started there in 1965 and until I graduated in 1975 I found them to definitely lean Liberal.
To give you some idea of my age, my freshman year in college Greek men had to wear a beany cap.
After the Army, my first combat injury and my divorce, I returned to college and joined the three out of every four students and smoked plenty of pot.
