I had thought we might get same Nas at some point but we got Wenyon.

Why? Is that an indictment on Little or is Wenyon just fitting in better at this point?

Curious to get y’all’s thoughts.

love wenyens energy. No one brings energy off the bench like Wenyen

His height. He’s been replacing 7 footers in the rotation.

One thing to consider...
Nas is reported to be at 6'5" with a wingspan of 7'2" (and 220 lbs)
Wenyen Gabriel is reported to be 6'9" with a 7'1" wingspan (and 205lbs)

Nas also has a longer standing reach

Little was dehydrated... not sure how he lets that happen, maybe since he wasn't playing he just drank all of CJ wine? Its concerning that he is possibly not preparing to be ready and jump in at any moment to play.

I think Stotts needs to aim to play one non-3pt shooters at a time if Dame is being doubled. Usually that is Nurk or Whiteside. Wenyen this year was 41.7% (5/12) vs Little 23.7 (14/59)

Teams are doubling Dame at half-court, we need to make them pay for that gimmick defense. Wide open threes for good shooters will destroy the opponent.

If the opponent is not doubling Dame maybe we try a second non 3pt shooter, most likely that is Nurk+Whiteside together. Maybe a couple spot minutes of a wing defender such as Little. But overall we win this series by outshooting the Lakers, we need to have lineups on the floor that can do that.

Simons has not cut it all season, if they need to bring someone in for 5 minutes try Adams, or what the hell was the point of even signing him. Adams shot 40.1% for threes this year in the G League (87/217)

Dame taught him how to drink like a fish.

Because since the shutdown they’ve worked Nas exclusively at small forward. All of Wenyens minutes have come at the 4/5. And then there’s the whole concussion/dehydration thing.

The real question should be why Mario over Nas?

6'.5"?!

Dang....he looks much taller than that.

I assume you meant to put 6' 4.5" since that's what he measured barefoot (shorter than I thought he was). Little small for SF, not talented enough (maybe?) for SG.

The point is he is not too small at SF if he has a 7'2" wing and an 8'9" stand reach. At already 220 lbs I think he can cover most stretch 4s as well. His height is irrelevant if he has the other measurables.

They said we signed Adams for practices so that Dame and CJ can rest.
