Kudos to his mom. Shows he has the right parents and the right parental upbringing.

I have a new found respect for Steph.

If he had the right upbringing, would he still need to be scolded as an adult?

Really?? I mean... Really??

He said something any adult would say. It's my fucking house.

Does that really need scolding?? GTFO...

Like I said, I'da told my boy "IT'S YOUR FUCKING HOUSE!!!"

Guess I'm raising him wrong...

I wouldn’t say it and I’m an adult.
However if he wants to say it that is his choice I guess, and if you want to teach your kid to say it that’s also your choice.

I personally won’t be teaching my kids to speak that way, but hey they’ll figure it out without my help. How they choose to talk will ultimately be their choice.

Steph is a grown man. I’m sure this has more to do with his family being super Christian more than anything but yeah, it’s not a big deal. That’s called being competitive and being in the moment. He shouldn’t apologize for it and his mom shouldn’t scold him for it like he’s some child

I don't have a link but I read a study that children who have parents cuss around them turn out more intelligent.

It's proven science. :twothumbs:

a study is now proven science lol...
For the record when googling this you find a few small studies that psychiatrists suggest swearing helps with language skills and expressing emotions, and a lot of the studies were of college kids and seem to assume a lot of things. I’m not saying it’s right or wrong, but I think it’s a ways away from a proven science.

Anyways parent you kids the way you think is best in 20 years they’ll tell you, you did it all wrong anyways. :dunno:

Yeah, my post wasn't meant to be taken that seriously. I did really read a study that said that though.

You don't have to curse on national TV in front of kids to be competitive and in the moment.

But he was in a game that just so happens to be on national tv. So anything within the game is going to be captured on camera. It's the western conference finals. I think it's fine

Just so happens to be?? He knows he's on TV in a live event and does it anyway. These players are paid a lot because of money made from games on national TV. They can choose not to curse. Disrespectful if they don't. What about the kids in the arena sitting a few feet away from him? Dame swears too but I still think it's bad form.

They are adults and most people watching are adults and those kids you mention hear a lot worse whether it be from their own movies, parents, or youtube videos, friends, etc.

That makes it ok??

I think you’re looking too much into it. It was heat of the moment, he was on a roll, and he probably was tired about hearing his poor performance the last couple games and it came out. I’m not saying it’s totally okay but you have to understand it’s the western conference finals and it’s very competitive.

Around here, people have been the games HAVEN'T been competitive. Go figure.

Honestly, I think the only time I've "heard" Dame cuss is when you could read his lips cussing (I.E. after .9). I can't remember a whole lot of times hes cussed in an interview. I'm probably wrong, and it's 12:45 am and just spent 4 days in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, but yeah... (which, by the way, go. Some of the most beautiful places in the country)

Don't take it personal Lanny. He's only saying that when you talk about a story you've read, post the link.... Rook! :devilwink:
I don't usually post a link unless requested or if it's already common knowledge. Most people take me at my word that I know what the heck I'm talking about. Only occasionally do I typically get a request for a link.

Hey, my best friend in the Army was from Ishpeming, upstate Michican, on that peninsula. He taught me how to pronounce sauna (sow nuh). He was an expert on cars from the 50s and 60s.

There are an awful lot of young kids watching. Whenever I'm around young children you can bet your bottom dollar that I do not swear. Heck, whenever I take a youngster with me to have pizza my wife and I have a soft drink rather than a beer. I'm just not in favor of youngsters witnessing my bad behavior.

I can excuse minor bad behavior during a game because of the intensity of the event but my hat is off to Steph for apologizing for it. He is the product of good parenting.

He will always be his mom's child. His mom did the right thing and he did right by apologizing, at least according to the way I was raised.

You've never had your mouth washed with soap?

My parent's are both deceased but I never swore in front of them. I guess it's from old habit.
