Curry Wants Out If Isiah Is Fired

On Wednesday, Eddy Curry said that if Isiah Thomas is no longer running the Knicks, he doesn't want to be around either.

Asked if he'd be surprised if Garden chairman James Dolan fires Thomas, Curry said, "Yeah, I'll be shocked. I'll be pissed. I'll be trying to get out of here."

When asked specifically if he would want out of New York if Thomas was gone, Curry responded by saying, "Definitely. I'd be on my way out." [READ]

Well, I'd say good riddance to both of them. It was a huge mistake to bring in Isiah, and it was a huge mistake to bring in Curry.

I think Curry is something the Knicks need, one of the few blocks that are keepers for the foundation. If I were the Knicks owner, my foundation would be:

C: Curry/Frye
PF: Lee/Frye
SF: ??/Jeffries
SG: ??/Balkman
PG: ??/??

Crawford might be a foundational piece, not sure.

Chances are it seems, that Isaiah is going to be gone, but I think Curry might be convinced to give the replacement coach a chance if Isaiah is fired.

What are you talking about? Curry never demanded a trade out of Chicago. He refused to take a heart test and Chicago traded him. Eddy never requested a trade, so get your facts straight. And Eddy is just showing loyalty to the coach who traded the rights to Tyrus Thomas (currently averaging less than 4 points and 3 rebounds) for him. Jermaine O'Neal said the exact same thing in the offseason of 2002 or 2003. I'm surprised you're not saying the same thing about Tyrus Thomas who admitted he was in the dunk contest just for the money. Maybe he should just get out of the NBA. That's more of a childish act.

Relax dude Tyrus is not the subject. Curry wants out of NY . Curry did demand a trade. Pax was looking out for the kids life and he chose money over that. Pax couldve held on to him but he gave the kid what he wanted. All of chicago loves Eddie but he wants his cake and eat it too. He got the trade he wanted, now he wants everything that HE wants. What about the team and the franchise?

Curry does not want out of New York. Curry said he would want to leave if Isiah, who took his game to the next level, gets fired. Jermaine O'Neal and other players have said the exact same thing. And again, Curry did NOT demand a trade. Curry had the surgery and was cleared by the Bulls medical staff. However, they wanted to further evaluate his heart. And what do you mean he chose money over it? Curry played a major role in the Bulls' playoff push in 2004-05 and felt he should be given a multi-year extension after his rookie contract. The Bulls wanted to evaluate his heart before they re-signed him. They had good intentions, but Curry ultimately refused to go through with the test, which is his own personal decision. It's actually illegal in New York and many other states to demand a heart test like the Bulls were doing.

And as pedantic as it sounds, his name is "Eddy" not "Eddie".

First off, he did do the heart tests, he denied the DNA test. The DNA test would be much more accurate, and he didn't want to do it. And you can't see blah blah he is better then Tyrus Thomas because everyone knows that Thomas is a project. I'm not a big fan of his but you can't say that he won't be good and you can't compare him to a vet like Curry.

You're right, that's what I meant. I didn't realize the different between the two. Either way the fact still remains it was unfair to demand any test on Curry, especially if it's illegal in some states. And the reason Tyrus Thomas was brought into this discussion was to show michiganave17 that Tyrus Thomas fits the bill of a baby if Curry does. I brought Curry's stats to in a way refute his "I'm glad he didn't make the all-star team" comments and Tyrus stats to show his accomplishment in the league. I didn't say he won't be good in the argument (though I don't think he will) - I just said if anyone has the right to be a "baby" in the league, it's Curry since he has done more in the league than Thomas.

I haven't seen Eddie Curry as of late, but he's averaging 7 rebounds a game. Damn, that's a career high for him isn't it? I always thought of this guy as so one dimensional, it didn't matter if he did score at 60% fg, because he'd always be picking up early fouls or turning the ball over or whatnot. I wonder what the game looks like when David Lee is helping him out on the glass.

Maybe ur right, I thought he was 6'5 so he could manage at SG. I knew he was a gritty type guy though.

I cant blame him, I think Isiah and Marubury are the only 2 who actually want Curry around. With Isiah watching his back, Curry is virtually untouchable within the Knicks organization, he loses that, even though he is playing well now, he probally thinks he'll get screwed over some how.

Why not? Balkman isn't good offensively, but defensively he certainly is quick enough to stay in front of a SG defensively. He's a natural SF, but he can play SG on defensive.
